POTUS clearly doesn’t believe in soft power. There is no doubt that hard power is effective for immediate results. Long term, it might be too expensive to sustain, as history has always shown. Yet, I don’t even know if we are in times when history can repeat itself due to AI, so immediate action seems logical from the perspective of an uncertain future.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Whatever the system, it needs to account for human greed and the propensity to abuse others when given the chance. For example, hunger could be eliminated right now, simply through the willingness of everyone, especially those who have the resources to do so.
