बिहार के सारण जिले की एक बेटी.
उम्र महज 15 साल.
10वीं ही पास किया था.
सपने अभी पूरे होने बाकी थे.
11 मार्च की रात जलावन लेने घर से निकली थी.
मां के लिए खाना बनाना था.
लेकिन फिर कभी घर वापस नहीं लौटी.
5 दरिंदे पहले से घात लगाए बैठे थे.
लड़की को पकड़ा, बंद पड़े घर में ले गए
वह चीखती रही - “मां… बचाओ…”
मां और बहन दौड़ीं.
लेकिन उनके पहुंचने से पहले ही उसे घसीटते हुए कुएं तक ले जाकर धक्का दे दिया गया.
गांव वालों के मुताबिक, वह करीब आधे घंटे तक कुएं में पड़ी तड़पती रही.
लोग दौड़े, रस्सी लाए, बचाने की कोशिश की.
लेकिन जब बाहर निकाला गया…
तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी थी.
मां आंगन में बैठकर रोते हुए बस एक ही सवाल पूछ रही है-
“मेरी बेटी ने किसी का क्या बिगाड़ा था?”
आरोपी पहले भी लड़कियों को परेशान करते थे.
शिकायतें भी हुई थीं.
लेकिन सख्त कार्रवाई नहीं हुई.
अब सवाल सिर्फ अपराधियों पर नहीं…
सवाल व्यवस्था पर भी है.
अगर पहले ही कार्रवाई होती…
तो क्या आज एक बेटी जिंदा नहीं होती?
पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज किया है.
एक दरिंदा गिरफ्तार भी हुआ है.
बाकियों की तलाश जारी है.
लेकिन लोगों के मन में बस एक सवाल गूंज रहा है-
क्या बिहार में बेटियां पूरी तरह से कब सुरक्षित होंगी?

जबकि देश में, इस मामले में सामाजिक तनाव आदि का वातावरण पैदा ही नहीं होता अगर यूजीसी नये नियम को लागू करने से पहले सभी पक्ष को विश्वास में ले लेती और जाॅच कमेटी आदि में भी अपरकास्ट समाज को नेचुरल जस्टिस के अन्तर्गत उचित प्रतिनिधित्व दे देती।
