Ramadan Cricket 🏏

During Ramadan, we put on an array of events across the country, to ensure young people can play cricket during the holy month!

At Leyton Street Club, Chance to Shine coach Zaheer puts on the Ramadan Cup. It's a chance for Muslims and non-Muslims to play in some friendly competition, developing their teamwork and cricketing skills!

And for practicing Muslims, there's a break in play to pray and break their fast, so they are properly accommodated.

This year's theme is #GivetoGain, and we're so grateful to our supporters helping us bring the game to girls throughout the UK.

Last year:
👪 51% of the 600,000 young people reached were girls
🏏 Over 13,000 state educated girls played in our Chance to Compete competition
🏆 2 of our former cricketers won major professional franchise competitions

We're focused on help girls fulfil their potential, whatever this might be! And with a T20 World Cup on the horizon, we're excited to continue our work at the forefront of girls cricket.

Yesterday we hosted the Tier 1 U13s Girls - East London Indoor Finals. Three teams participated (Chigwell School, Forest School and Brentwood School). We had a great afternoon and the teams played some great cricket 🏏

Congratulations to Brentwood School for winning the Finals, they will be going through to the regional finals at the University of Cambridge on 17 April 🥇

Thank you to Amara Carr for handing out the medals and trophy to the girls, it was great to have her presence there. A big thank you to the 2 umpires Euan and Sophie for officiating these finals 🙌
