Manitobans want to see patriotism through action, not just rhetoric for the cameras.
Premier Wab Kinew is currently sending millions of Manitoba dollars to the United States on contracts that could be fulfilled by local businesses.
Right after Elon Musk publicly questioned Canada’s sovereignty last year, Kinew bragged about meeting Musk in Washington and then quintupled Manitoba’s contract with SpaceX.
This past fall, Kinew signed a $36-million deal with Aramark, a massive American firm, to supply food at hospitals and penitentiaries. That money could’ve gone to a Manitoba business.
(The City of Winnipeg followed Kinew’s example, losing Salisbury House a long-standing contract to Aramark.)
After the company that hosts EngageMB was bought by an American conglomerate, the Kinew government renewed their contract with that company.
And now he’s bragging about being sued by a multibillion-dollar U.S. company—which your tax dollars will be paying for.
The “elbows up” act is all for social media and the national spotlight. It’s part-time patriotism.
The issue with data centres in MB is the lack of energy capacity to serve clients.
Manitoba Hydro has said it themselves. You can’t even open a cryptocurrency mining operation if you wanted at this point.
Unless we start using nuclear or something else, we won’t open any large scale data centres.
@GurvSC@iamrobinskies I’m actually shocked to see the way people have reacted to her first few days as leader.
I feel like she’s been doing a great job since.
It feels like CE supporters just can’t get over the loss.
@JefferyPetts Yeah this is the thing I always remind people. In the courtroom this exists, in the court of public opinion it does not.
Happens everytime something like this happens.
@michael_trumper@Smileyyeg Diet is a major factor. Yes our food system has issues. Totally agree there. Hence why people need to eat a proper balanced diet and not over consume. Don’t eat the addictive foods.
@michael_trumper@Smileyyeg I’m not advocating for people to just not eat. You need to maintain a healthy balanced diet, exercise, and not over-consume.
It’s why I hate the idea of using ozempic for purely weight loss reasons. Especially when a large swath of people won’t exercise while on it.
Dude you keep bringing up people suffering from disease. I literally said they are the exception from the rule. They should use GLP-1s and other drugs to biohack.
If you think Ozempic is magically going to eradicate heart failure or diabetes, idk what to say to you man. There are associated risks with use of these drugs.
My point is that the vast majority of the population, can stay healthy, by maintaining a well balanced diet, without over consuming.
If you’re overweight, without certain diseases, you can enter a caloric deficit, exercise, and lose weight.
I’m not sure why you can’t understand this man….
Oh ffs Kyle seriously. I’m talking about the majority of the population. Not the exceptions you continue to mention.
Mental health? Yeah some people have eating disorders. They fall within the exceptions to the rule.
The vast majority of people can enter a caloric deficit, exercise and lose weight.
Stop making excuses for laziness
@alexbrown17@JefferyPetts His political inexperience is coming through in a multitude of ways.
I still cannot get over giving Gregor Robertson the housing file.
AI Sovereignty for Carney means implementing Cohere AI which relies on American data infrastructure, putting Canadians at risk.
An American company is building the data centre project, that Canadian taxpayers invested $240 Million into.
Let’s not forget get how Cohere had quietly partnered with Palantir, the same company with government defence contracts.
If any Canadian data passes through US owned infrastructure, it’s subject to the CLOUD act which could lead to theses companies turning over Canadian civilian or military data…
This is the state of Manitoba leadership.
Wab pays his personal buddy $500k + a year to do absolutely nothing for Manitoba in advancing our trade relationship with the U.S.
This guy keeps trying to farm for social media, meanwhile Manitoba is being directly implicated in a major trade irritant for the Americans.
Would be nice to have some real leadership in this province.

There’s also a fundamental difference between raising your voice and yelling at someone in a heated debate, and simply ignoring any feedback from people outside of his inner circle.
He could yell at them for all I care. It’s the fact that he’s literally blocking individuals from speaking on issues they are concerned about. That’s as authoritarian as it can get.
@IGROWMYOWN1@Smileyyeg I think I remember hearing that line somewhere else… something about saving hundred of millions of lives, with a product we have no real long term data on.
You are arguing a point as if I’m saying no one should use ozempic or other GLP-1s. Not my point at all.
I’m saying that the vast majority of populations don’t need to take it, and don’t need the associated risk that comes with it.
They can simply just enter a caloric deficit, use some willpower and stop bending their elbow so damn much.
I am an advocate for those who suffer from conditions that affect their metabolism, insulin resistance, etc, and would need to use something like this.
Just because something has the “potential” to save millions of lives, doesn’t mean it has the ability to take lives, or seriously hinder them. It’s a double edged sword.
Okay, the vast majority of the population can lose weight by simply entering into a caloric deficit. It’s that simple. If you burn more calories than you intake, you’ll lose weight.
Now there are exceptions, and this is where I advocate for bio hacking.
The issue is people like you selling these as wonder drugs, as if they don’t have major complications.
