I am a high desert rancher on land that solar development desperately wants to take away from me. It is by no means 'prime farm land', but I do feed 100 families beef, and I also provide wildlife habitat for deer, pronghorn, golden eagles, roadrunners, burrowing owls and the rare Peebles cactus. Solar belongs in town, on rooftops and over parking lots, not on open lands, period.
Those elk are in relatively low elevation sage hills/flats. Exactly the kind of stuff these Republicans and libertarians are calling "wastelands" in replies to various tweets.
