The Soviet Union responded instantly. Moscow dispatched nuclear-armed submarines and cruisers from Vladivostok to shadow and block the US fleet. The mighty US task force, sent to bully a young India, sat helplessly in the Bay of Bengal and then quietly withdrew.

We don't support wars but will protect our interests, honour our allies, and do what every sovereign nation does. Deal with it.
