Hindus should not harbour anger against Muslims even if the latter want to destroy and kill us all. We should face death bravely. If Muslims established their rule after killing all Hindus, we would be ushering in a new India. - Mahatma Gandhi
Wishing you a happy Gandhi Jayanti.
“Whether you are sitting quietly, talking, or playing, are you aware of the significance of every thought, of every reaction that you happen to have? Try it and you will see how difficult it is to be aware of every movement of your own thought, because thoughts pile up so quickly one on top of another. But if you want to examine every thought, if you really want to see the content of it, then you will find that your thoughts slow down and you can watch them. This slowing down of thinking and the examining of every thought is the process of meditation; and if you go into it you will find that, by being aware of every thought, your mind—which is now a vast storehouse of restless thoughts all battling against each other—becomes very quiet, completely still. There is then no urge, no compulsion, no fear in any form; and, in this stillness, that which is true comes into being. There is no “you” who experiences truth, but the mind being still, truth comes into it. The moment there is a “you” there is the experiencer, and the experiencer is merely the result of thought; he has no basis without thinking.”
— Krishnamurti
From "Think on These Things"
“I believe that a nation held down by foreign bayonets is in a perpetual state of war. Since open battle is denied to me, I drew forth my pistol and fired.”
Imagine standing in a packed, hostile London courtroom, staring at a judge who wants you dead, and casually dropping that line. No lawyer. No begging. Just a 25 year old engineering student calmly explaining to the British Empire that he had decided to act as his own personal army. When sentenced to death, he simply smiled and said,
“I thank you, my Lord. I am proud to lay down my life for my country.” Talk about an elite level of unbothered.
Long before he rattled British courtrooms, this young man was causing absolute chaos for his aristocratic family in Punjab.
Our protagonist was born into astronomical wealth. His father, Dr. Ditta Mal, was an eminent civil surgeon in Amritsar who loved the British Raj so much he practically bowed to pictures of the King before breakfast. For the elite Mal family, their supreme life goal was to accumulate British titles, host colonial officers, and enjoy high-society tea parties.
There was just one problem: their son refused to play along.
As a student in Amritsar, he aggressively protested the college’s mandatory British blazers. Horrified that their son’s anti-colonial defiance might ruin their social standing, his father instantly threw him out of the house. The hypocrisy was loud: a multi-millionaire father let his own brilliant son end up on the streets of Lahore working as a clerk, a manual labourer, and a horse-carriage (tonga) driver, just to protect his imperial street cred.
Embarrassed that a son of theirs was driving carriages, his brothers brokered a deal: we fund your education, but you leave the country. They packed him off to London to study mechanical engineering, operating under the hilariously flawed logic that sending a fiery young patriot to the literal heart of the Empire would somehow tame him.
Spoiler alert: It backfired spectacularly.
In London, he joined India House, a sanctuary for nationalists led by Shyamji Krishna Varma and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Back home, the British Raj was unleashing horrific brutality, hanging teenage icons like Khudiram Bose and fearless souls like Prafulla Chaki and Kanailal Dutt. Hearing about these martyrdoms, his blood boiled. He realized the Empire only understood the language of consequence.
But he didn't just rush into action. He executed a tactical masterclass. To shield his mentors and throw off British spies, he deliberately pretended to turn against Savarkar, left India House, and spent weeks in deep secrecy practicing at a shooting range.
On a warm July evening, he put on a sharp suit, walked into a London gala, and emptied his revolver into Sir Curzon Wyllie, a top British intelligence asset.
The moment news hit India, his father’s peak hypocrisy was unveiled. Terrified of losing his British given privileges, Dr. Ditta Mal went into a frantic damage control spiral. He issued formal "Fargati" notices and bought aggressive newspaper advertisements to publicly disown and humiliate his son, effectively declaring his loyalty to the occupiers over his own child. When the boy was hanged, the family flat-out refused to even claim his body.
Yet, even Winston Churchill, a notorious India-hater who openly despised Indians was forced to admit that the young man’s final statement was the finest execution of patriotic speech ever delivered. When your fiercest enemy bows his head in awe, you've made history.
Today, September 18, marks the birth anniversary of this absolute force of nature: Madan Lal Dhingra, born in 1883. Our sincere tribute to the great man, who remains mostly forgotten.
This 40-looking, 140-kg Gen Z whale has the audacity to throw the “hamare tax se inko salary milti hai” line at an Army Commanding Officer whose entry into the cordoned-off zone she was blocking.
The Army isn't a private service being provided to individual taxpayers. Defence is a sovereign function of the state, funded from the consolidated public budget. A taxpayer doesn't personally employ a soldier and therefore doesn't acquire the right to order, obstruct or demean him. The soldier serves the Republic through the chain of command and the law.
Army personnel pay taxes too. They are salaried employees, so tax is deducted at source. They pay taxes on their interest, investments and other taxable income as well. They neither evade taxes by default nor steal a single rupee from the public exchequer.
Yet somehow, they are supposed to stand there and listen to entitled, loudmouthed, uncouth people lecture them about “taxpayers’ money.”
And ironically, according to social media reports, her family is into property dealing. We all know what a spotless reputation the property-dealing business has when it comes to tax compliance. But since it’s apparently cool, the “taxpayers’ money pays your salary” taunt can always be thrown at the armed forces.
It is obvious Shri @pbhushan1 lacks in Intelligence & Integrity but it saddens to see there is deficit in Civilizational aspects too. A case of Trash getting to the Top. -Sg

Isha Yoga Centre- how to describe this place.. The first time I visited was right after initiation. That time I was amazed by the beauty and aesthetics of the place. It's in my later visits that I realised a part of it gets locked in you which makes you long for it.🙏

Or if I were a boat, then I have sighted the shore. I might not be going to straight there, but the seeing has happened.
Yes it sounds poetic but that's how it is. 🌟🙏😊
My Journey with Sadhguru and Isha
If I were a plant, then Sadhguru is the soil in which I got to put my dangling roots. Roots which were otherwise not finding the right soil. But this soil feels mature and rich enough for lifetimes of growth.

I always fail to describe my experience with Sadhguru in very objective terms. "My back got fixed, my anxiety got fixed, my happiness got fixed, my sleeping and eating habits got fixed." Yes all that has happened, but essentially I got anchored.

But as one goes nearer, it can fill your being with fullness and bliss which is beyond reason. The cool bliss of silence within where the din of the world does not touch you if you wish..
