Not a layoff, it's a buyout - Microsoft opened a voluntary exit offer. ~60k eligible (~27% of staff) in US, Canada, India, UK. Decide by early Dec, out by Dec 31. EM lens: buyouts tend to walk out folks with the most options. Have the retention chat with your best people now.

@danpdc Same applies to cost, not just quality. Our coding agents burnt through the GitHub Actions budget in week one - no prompt rule was going to stop that. Spending limits, concurrency caps and auto-cancelling superseded runs in CI are the rungs that actually hold.
@suraj_sharma14@mattpocockuk The underrated part: skills are just folders with a SKILL.md, so they live happily in git. I learnt this the hard way - once lost months of bot skills and rules over a lapsed subscription. Now they get backed up to a repo daily. Versioned and portable beats locked into one tool.
Practical takeaway for teams: treat AGENTS.md and agent skill files like code. Keep them in a git repo so any new or changed instruction file shows up in a diff and gets reviewed before an agent reads it. And never launch an agent from ~/Downloads - scope it to the project root.
Anthropic went from ~2,500 code merges a day in May to 30,000+ a day by September.
Git itself became the bottleneck. So a team of 7 built their own version control system and migrated in 5 months.
When AI agents write the code, the bottleneck moves to everything around it.
Grok Bot 0.77 looks INSANE 🔥
> Calls: your Bot can dial someone, sit on hold, press keys and get transferred while you watch a live transcript
> Messages on Mac: a setup screen under Connect Apps, still switched off
> Tailscale: Grok Bot can join your private tailnet once an admin approves it
> Payments: a screen to connect payment accounts and pick a default, on top of yesterday’s Vault
> Sharing: emails when someone shares a Bot with you, and invites need Premium or Ultra
Tiger's Nest, Bhutan.
The trek is steep, the air is thin, and then this view hits you.
Bhutan is beautiful, clean and unhurried. Visit at least once in your life - not for photos, for the peace.
Tip: took me 2-3 hours to climb. Start early, carry water, take it slow.
Hard lesson on building with AI agents:
Spent months building bots on Grok Bot - skills, rules, knowledge. Renewed my subscription one day late and all of it was gone.
Your prompts, skills and rules ARE your product. Now I:
- keep every skill and rule in git
- commit daily
- can rebuild on any platform
Own your agent's brain.
Her name is Swarshri Hegde she is 2 years 10 months old. But at this little age only she has made into India Book of Records for reciting, playing 12 taals in Tabala. She is from Honnavara Uttara Kannada Karnataka. Congratulations to little Swarshri 😍👏💐
A year ago, writing code was our bottleneck. We barely touched our GitHub Actions limit.
Now our coding agents push so many changes that we burn the whole month's Actions budget in the first week.
The bottleneck didn't disappear. It moved to CI.
Every "AI feature" we build has a shelf life of about 9 months. That's how long it takes frontier models to make it a default.
Build like it's temporary.
