Glad to inaugurate the Digital Design & 3D Printing Centre of Excellence in Guwahati.
This facility brings advanced digital design, additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping capabilities to Assam, enabling faster innovation across healthcare, aerospace, energy, agriculture and more.
This will also accelerate new product development and encourage our MSMEs to build solutions right here in Assam, India- acting as a very potent import substitution tool.
This morning, @IAF_MCC carried out three sorties, airdropping 627 kg of relief supplies to stranded families in Nazira.
Our teams remain on the ground, reaching every flood-affected family with essential relief.
Assam just unlocked a 24 million year old fossil, shedding light into the ancient floral ecosystem of the region.
The Kewra (Pandanus) fossil discovered in Makum reflects how this 85 million year old plant reached Indian subcontinent 24 million years back and since then has made Assam its home.
Beneath Assam's surface, lies many such untold stories.

Positive Headline of the Day!
Assam Charts a ₹77,353 Crore Roadmap to Become Northeast's Green Energy Hub..
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that Assam is embarking on an ambitious journey to become the green energy hub of the Northeast through an investment roadmap of ₹77,353 crore. He said the initiative will increase the state's power generation capacity from the current 450 MW to 8,457 MW, laying the foundation for a power-surplus Assam while accelerating clean energy, energy security and sustainable economic growth.
As we work towards building a self-reliant and energy-secure Assam, our focus remains on expanding renewable energy, strengthening power infrastructure and creating a future-ready energy ecosystem. Guided by the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, we are making strategic investments that will not only meet the state's growing energy needs but also position Assam as a leader in green energy generation.
The roadmap spans hydropower, solar, thermal and energy storage projects, supported through a combination of state funding, Central government schemes, externally aided projects and public-private partnerships. A major pillar of this transformation is the approval of four pumped storage projects with a combined capacity of 4,900 MW, expected to attract nearly ₹27,100 crore in private investment and significantly strengthen renewable energy integration.
The state's hydropower sector is also gathering momentum. The 120 MW Lower Kopili Hydroelectric Project has entered the trial commissioning stage and is already supplying around 55 MW to the grid. Alongside this, Assam is developing 11 additional hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 137.2 MW, while a proposed 3,200 MW thermal power plant at Bilasipara will further strengthen the state's energy mix.
We are also investing heavily in transmission infrastructure to support future growth. Over the next five years, Assam plans to lay 15,000 circuit kilometres of transmission and distribution lines, construct 120 substations, and install 20,000 high-voltage distribution transformers, ensuring reliable and efficient power reaches every corner of the state.
Our vision is to make Assam a clean energy powerhouse that drives industrialisation, attracts investment and powers inclusive development. By building a modern, resilient and sustainable energy ecosystem today, we are creating the foundation for a greener, stronger and more prosperous Assam for generations to come.

Not a single tree will be allowed to be cut down in our Reserve Forests. We are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness.
Recent satellite imagery has revealed the destruction of nearly 400 hectares of our forest land along the Assam–Arunachal Pradesh border by across state border miscreants. Acting on the directions of Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. @himantabiswa dangoriya, I visited the affected area today and took stock of the area with drone images along with officials of the Forest Department, Assam Police and the Civil Administration.
The encroached forest land has been reclaimed, and I have directed our Forest officials and Assam Police to work in close coordination to crack down on such activities. We will not allow anyone to destroy our forests. Immediate afforestation will be undertaken to restore the damaged ecosystem.
