Yep noone has the right to win anything just because they had something yesterday. Just as moats and pmf are no longer a static set in stone thing. Everyday is a fight to keep evolving faster than others
Whenever I hear an incumbent say they have a right to win in consumer AI, I get nervous for them and excited for startups
No one has a right to win anything anymore. You have to fight for it every day
It may take a few years, but if you don't disrupt yourself, you're dead
@julianweisser The phrase "representation matters" hit me on a totally different level when I met you last year, early in my solo-founder journey. Seeing other solo founders thriving normalizes it so much that it suddenly stops being a thing i even remember to define yourself by
i LOVE the journey of building a company because at its heart, it is truly a journey of self discovery. Playing to my strengths, getting help for my weaknesses, putting my judgement to rapid testing and learning fast from it. How can it not be fun!!!
When people tell me i need to live a more balanced life or whatever, I don't think they understand just how positively ADDICTED I am to solving this problem of chronic suffering. i see how wrong things are right now, and the right way to do it is so obvious in front my eyes that i simply can't let it go.
The best analogy i can think of is: when you're addicted to a video game - you choose to play it because it alludes you. you can't stop playing all night, you don't complain about losing sleep, you get killed again and again, but don't give up. And when you complete that level, you simply move on to the next level and keep going.
So much of our product building these days is.. how do we strip off, consolidate, and simplify. Building a simple product is insanely harder than one with 100 features
This note from our user validates our ultimate promise. We're on a mission to end chronic suffering. By helping people find root cause, answers, and the right care before an illness drags on for years and becomes chronic.
Youโre conflating a couple of things by assuming that solo-founder = simple product, building alone forever, with no resources. Attracting strong hires and resources has nothing to do with how many founders started the company. I donโt understand why would you even assume otherwise here? Is that just your stereotype?
@adelwu_ literally the hardest to hire for rn. because people who have all of these in exceptional levels go on to become founders anyway. taste+ technical+execution is such a holy trinity
@chaaai when companies email me requesting time for demos offering free stuff, I respond that Iโll only jump on call if they can intro me potential users or partners. Most donโt, but once in a while some of them really surprise me going above and beyond.
