The murder incident in Puri ahead of Ratha Jatra has raised serious questions about the safety of lakhs of devotees arriving from across the country and abroad.

The incident has created fear among tourists. Sometimes it’s murder, sometimes tourists are robbed at knifepoint.

Despite frequent meetings on law and order, criminals are openly challenging the system. The police must take firm steps in this regard and ensure special attention so that Ratha Jatra concludes peacefully without disruption.
