DeepSeek-V4-Flash update was honestly a huge shock. Gains are insane…

-Beat Fable 5 on Terminal Bench (+2.2 pts) at roughly 1/35th the price

-DeepSeek claims all gains are due to post-training (no architecture change or new params)

-7x improvement on DeepSWE, 2x improvement on Cybergym

Could there be benchmaxxing…? It's always a possibility, but it probably wouldn't explain all of the gains. A 7x jump on DeepSWE and a 2x jump on Cybergym from the same base model is a lot to pin on eval-shaped training data alone.

Worth watching for third-party reproductions but this is still a huge moment for post-training.

People are completely ignoring that yes, DeekSeek V4 Flash is not as smart as the other frontier models.

But if you actually optimize with the right harness you can get some major performance out of it.

The harness is equally as important.

Try it on Hermes or OMP.
