The timing could not be more significant. With the UK–India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) set to enter into force on 15 July, we move from a landmark agreement to implementation in record time under the leadership of the Honourable @PiyushGoyal, Rt Hon @peterkyle, and their respective teams.

On Navratri, with the blessings of Shri Bageshwar Balaji and Guruji Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, we performed the bhoomi pujan for the cancer hospital in Gadha, Madhya Pradesh.

For our family, this hospital is a tribute to Papa, Shri Shashi Ruia, whose life was anchored in service and compassion, and whose values continue to inspire us every day.

We hope this hospital brings care, strength, and hope to many families in need.

The hospital is a tribute to Shri Shashi Ruia. It aims to provide affordable and subsidised healthcare for communities in the region, helping make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

It is hard to imagine Essar without Mehraji.

A doyen of the steel industry, he stood with us for nearly three decades through defining moments. Clear in his thinking, firm in his conviction and always generous with his guidance.

I grew up watching Papa and Mehraji build our steel business together, brick by brick.

To me, he was a mentor, a guide and a friend. Someone I could always turn to. Steady, practical and deeply committed to what he believed in.

You will be deeply missed, Mehraji.
