He’s coming after spending years at Mumbai City FC. A new club, new dressing room, new teammates, a new coach, and a different style of football—adjustment doesn’t happen overnight.

Yes, he isn’t exactly the same player he was 2–3 years ago. But let’s not forget what he has achieved. Chhangte is still one of India’s finest footballers and, in my opinion, still the country’s best right winger. Players of his quality don’t suddenly forget how to play football.
If he doesn’t explode in his first 3–4 games, please don’t write him off. Back him. Support him. Let him build chemistry with his teammates and understand the coach’s system.

Once he settles into this star-studded Mohun Bagan side, there’s every chance we’ll see the Chhangte who has tormented defenses for years. His pace, movement, work rate, and experience can become a massive asset for us. At Mohun Bagan, every player is expected to perform, and criticism is part of representing this badge. That’s fair.
