Latika Padalkar, Former IAS Officer & Vigilance Commissioner, Tamil Nadu Government, recalls a tense confrontation with then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa over the cancellation of granite quarry licences.

Speaking at CNBC-TV18’s Future. Female. Forward, Padalkar says she refused to carry out what she believed would be an illegal order, even after being told she could be transferred. Her response: “That's your privilege, madam, to post me as director of dustbins also if you can.”

The licences were subsequently cancelled, but one of the affected parties challenged the order in the High Court, which stayed it. @HSBC_IN @Cognizant @ficci_india

It is heartbreaking that he passed away just yesterday. May he rest in peace 🕊️

Have covered and reported on the game extensively and interacted with many legends. @imVkohli articulation and clarity of thought is simply of a level I have rarely seen in Indian cricket.

3824 runs at 37.86
330 wkts at 25.06
@imjadeja
Nos of cricketers with more runs AND more wickets at better averages: NONE

P.S. Naysayers, we do know that by some quirk, defeating the entire progress of human thought, scoring runs & taking wkts have both become easier these days

Brook went to shake hands after Jadeja's century but he forgot that Washington Sunder's century is still pending 😂😂😂
