I can't emphasize enough how damning it is that the feds themselves doubted the legitimacy of Ilhan Nur Said Elmi's a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar's "marriage" to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

When Ahmed, almost certainly jointly with Ilhan, filed a petition with federal immigration authorities to change the status on his marriage-based green card from conditional to permanent residency, he (and likely they) had to provide authoritative evidence that the marriage was real and not for immigration fraud purposes, in the form of personal and financial records, and sworn affidavits.

The feds probed Ahmed about the petition, he withdrew it, and fled back to the UK.

Why didn't the feds buy the story Ahmed (and likely Ilhan) told them? What documents did they provide? Assuming Ilhan filed with Ahmed jointly, what did she attest to under penalty of perjury?
