On 9 February 2026, the @ZNCCNational engaged the @ReserveBankZIM and formally submitted its 2026 Monetary Policy recommendations, reinforcing the private sector’s contribution to a stable, predictable, and growth-oriented monetary framework.

The ZNCC delegation was led by President Mr. @KaroroTapiwa, alongside Deputy President Ms. @jtakundwa, CEO Mr. @MugagaTakunda, Harare Branch Vice Chair Ms. @gloriagawe, Principal Economist Mr. @jephias_makiwa, and Membership Executive Mr. @Prayware.

The submissions focused on key policy areas affecting business viability and financial sector stability, including monetary policy tightness, real interest rates and prevailing credit conditions, ZiG market performance, as well as digital tax implications.

A major highlight from the engagement was confirmation that Zimbabwe will be under an IMF Staff Monitored Program (SMP) for the next 10 months, signalling an important step toward strengthening macroeconomic discipline, policy credibility, and reform momentum.

ZNCC remains committed to evidence-based advocacy, constructive policy dialogue, and ensuring that monetary policy outcomes support enterprise growth, competitiveness, and economic stability.
