During my last visit to Manipur, a displaced child broke down when I simply asked a question about her schooling. That showed the mental trauma of conflict. Suicide cases are also high. To address that @humanaidint has deployed NIMHANS experts for their psychosocial care.
Heikru Hidongba, a traditional Manipuri boat race festival, aims at bringing peace and prosperity to the communities. @humanaidint working in the state through its @LOCAL_India_23 member @PrdaManipur1988 hopes for the restoration of peace and harmony in this beautiful state.
In every crisis, #survivors and communities are the first responders.
That’s why Survivor and Community-Led Responses (sclr) are so powerful. Unlike externally driven aid, #sclr strengthens autonomous collective self-help, supporting people to design and lead solutions rooted in their own political, social, and economic realities.
Across #India, from disaster response and preparedness to socio-economic upliftment, communities are already responding with courage and ingenuity.
The #map shows not only our work through sclr, but also how diverse and complex crises are, and why contextualising localisation through sclr is not only relevant but essential everywhere.
Because who knows better how to respond than the people living it themselves?

Two #lightning awareness sessions held in #Manipur, led by Col. Prof. Sanjay Srivastava, featuring live demonstrations, shelter assessments, and community-led discussions.
In #Manipur, lightning is not just a hazard. It’s a silent, rising threat to local communities.
With support from #StartFund@StartNetwork and @PrdaManipur1988 we organised a #Lightning Awareness Session for the internally displaced communities, focused on demystifying lightning risks and building local preparedness.
The session was led by Col. Prof. Sanjay Srivastava @sanjaysonisa India’s foremost lightning expert, whose work has shaped national early warning systems and community resilience strategies across the country.
She spoke about her work with pride not complaints.
But quietly said, “We don’t get paid enough.”
Even if money isn’t their focus, maybe it should be ours.
#Frontline workers take the risk for society: Fair Pay, Dignity at work and Respect shouldn’t be optional.
It’s time we take responsibility.
“Our area never received any aid, we are thankful that someone showed up this time.”
With #StartFund and @PrdaManipur1988, critical support is reaching those who need it the most.
Thanks to the relentless efforts of our team on ground, critical aid is reaching the most vulnerable in #Manipur.
With #StartFund (@StartNetwork ) and @LOCAL_India_23 member @PrdaManipur1988 we are supporting dignified flood relief for 2200 households.
#Manipur was hit by floods. At Ideal Girls Relief Camp, #communities have begun cleaning up on their own, ensuring sanitation, cleanliness and safety for all.
This #WorldEnvironmentDay, nature is speaking.
#Mizoram: 598 landslides
#Assam: 5.35 lakh affected
#Manipur: 10,477 houses damaged
#Kerala: heavy rains affected 70,000+ people
These #floods aren’t just natural disasters - they’re climate warnings.

#HAI's @LOCAL_India_23 platform member @PrdaManipur1988 is leading our response in Manipur. One new toilet was constructed in one of the IDP camps to improve the sanitation in the camp.
The #flood situation is grim in Manipur. Disasters are testing the #resilience of the people. While over 60,000 people are still displaced due to the conflict, the state suffered from back-to-back hailstorms a month ago and now the floods. @PrdaManipur1988@LOCAL_India_23
#Floods in Imphal, Manipur have been adding to the miseries of the already displaced population. #HAI's @LOCAL_India_23 member @PrdaManipur1988 has started intervening through Survivor & Community Led Response (#sclr) approach.
Devastation and displacement caused by #floods in Imphal. We are exploring the possibility of supporting the initiatives of the affected-population to recover. @LOCAL_India_23
