It’s helpful if they can help their next generation out as there is no denying that housing, food, travel, health care, etc. are significantly more cost today verses an individuals wage compared to 20-40 years ago. It’s not just about laziness, it’s reality. My parents house is worth 750k today, they bought it for 175k in 1995. My father was making 70k a year then. His same job today pays 125k.
