GBV is a human rights violation that disproportionately impacts women, girls, and marginalized groups.
From physical harm to digital abuse, it stems from inequality and power imbalances. It's time for action! #EndGBV#YouthDrivenChangeKE
Had a discussion earlier today about the difference between Gen X, Gen Z’s and Gen Alpha and as a Gen X I realized our problem is that we grew up with fear, fear of everything, from fear of our parents to fear of any kind of failure, school, exams, relationships and so on, So when Gen X became parents they didn’t want their children to grow up with the same fear they grew up with, when I tell you we even feared our mother’s silence, their eyes spoke volumes, a Gen Z won’t understand, when I say we couldn’t look into a grownup’s eyes they won’t even comprehend, we grew up fearing anything and everything, we had curfew, we had a scheduled TV time, we were born at a different time.
Things have changed and now you have a generation of fearless young adults, which is extremely dangerous if handled the same way our parents and government of the that time handled us, we conformed because our generation grew up under a dictatorship environment from home, school, college to government.
I pray and hope our leaders awaken to the fact that this a different generation that cannot be handled like the past generation for the sake of this country, they are fearless using fear or arrogance on them will only aggravate the situation.
I hope wisdom prevail because they are fighting a good fight and must be heard and appreciated.🙏🏽
