Without reporting to parents then this isn't safety! If it can be turned off without parent knowing this isn't safety!

We made it clear that we do not support this Labour government and its failure to protect our children.

However, there are two important points here. Our benchmark shows that only @grok will prevent coercion and sextortion. None of the others will - the AI which labour wanted to ban!

We would be happy for the minister to review our data on this.

Secondly, the government is right in one respect: most tools will detect Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content. This functionality should be available on children’s devices, but it must be enabled by the parent and not turned on by default across all devices. In fact, Predator Hunters Shield will be launching in Q3 (if not sooner), free of charge, to help protect children.

We also have concerns about the policing of this:
I do not want images of my child to be scanned and sent anywhere so what exactly is the police reporting process on this?

It would also be beneficial for devices to detect NSFW content in photos to prevent them from being created. However, why should this apply to photos taken by the child? What if a parent is having a private medical appointment over the phone and needs to send images to a doctor via video call? Will this now be flagged and sent to the police, putting innocent people at risk of arrest?

While this policy is good in theory, the practical implementation will likely be damaging unless parents are given the final decision and control.

Maybe our own mp @steveyemm would like a preview of this and a sit down on how we can protect children going forward!

We are also working on a dedicated private grooming detection AI Model that this government could done years ago (including Tory party!)

I make no apologies for doing the right thing to protect children from paedophiles. This is about stopping the coercion and sextortion of children, not surveilling or policing people’s phones.

This technology is already on devices. The tech firms just need to switch it on to block children from seeing nude imagery.

There is no reporting, no data collection, no monitoring, and no images leaving the device. All adults will be able to switch off the protections if they are over 18.

This is targeted, proportionate and - most importantly - it protects children from vile abusers.

Kieron Willans, of Leicester, appeared in Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, 8 April 2026).

He pleaded guilty to the following offences:
Making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child (19 Category B images)
Making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child (53 Category C images)

Willans attended court with support but left alone. He is next due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 21 May 2026, for sentencing at 2pm.

He must sign on at the police station by Saturday. His current bail conditions remain in place, which include a prohibition on interacting with anyone under the age of 18 except as part of normal daily life.
