This is why I laugh at the banterous slandering of the GOATed Jay Jay Okocha. If it is not just banter and you genuinely believed he killed team’s progressive play, then your understanding of the game has to be checked.
Jay Jay was not just a magical dribbler; but just like Messi, he was a talent, blessed with tremendous vision and a dexterious passer of the ball.
So, like it was in this game vs Italy in 1994 (that shaped the unfounded claims that Jay Jay doesn’t play with the team), the times he didn’t pass, he was either unsure of the pass going through or of the teammate’s run good enough. It happens, a lot, with players that never like to lose the ball.
And once again in this clip against Italy, it is obvious to see how positive Jay Jay’s play was for the team than negative. I remember the notion while watching this game LIVE among those seniors were that of negativity; I wonder how they will feel if they watch it with open minds now. (I remember watching the full game in Qatar four years ago 😁)
@notamutual2@LKCOYB He will not really be a Regista because it's not a 4-3-3. In a 4-2-3-1 which I believe we'll play more often under Alonso or 3-4-2-1, Enzo will occupy one of the mid pockets while Caicedo operates in the other pocket. He has gott Cover now
“Enzo 22/23”
That wasn’t the best Enzo either as our deepest midfielder.
The 1st 1/2 games under Poch in 23/24 is the best profiling he’s seen at this club.
This is what Alonso has described.
