🔴TAV 3-3🟢DID
An entertaining game.
Didcot much the better team in the second half.
Didcot Town player of the match
Luke Preen
Worked hard for the team throughout.
Congratulations to @PreenLuke9, who collected the award for the August Player of the Month ahead of the game with Cribbs on Saturday.
Luke has made an instant impression since his arrival at the club this summer, with two goals and two assists during the month of August.
@PreenLuke9 was the Didcot Town player of the match today in their game with Helston Athletic.
We would like to thank our Player of the Match Sponsor @Da_fox_14 for their continued support.
GOAL!!!!!
Didcot take the lead through Preen!
A loose ball bounces through the Helston defence who are waiting for a foul. No whistle came and Preen ran onto the ball and, after taking the ball around the keeper, passed the ball into the open net.

DIDCOT EASE THROUGH
Didcot Town booked their place in the first qualifying round of the The Emirates FA Cup with a 2-0 win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town FC
Having lost against the Wiltshire club in the same competition in 2020, Didcot made sure lightning wouldn't strike twice, as two first-half goals were enough to ease past their opponents.
Josh Davis and Jim Glover were on target for the railwaymen in the space of ten first-hal FA Cup with a 2-0 win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
Having lost at the Wiltshire club in the same competition in 2020, Didcot made sure lightning wouldn't strike twice, as two first-half goals were enough to ease past their opponents.
Josh Davis and Jim Glover were on target for the railwaymen in the space of ten first-half minutes to ensure there was no cup upset at the Sustain Stadium.
Didcot started brightly and Davis and Dylan Conlan had already gone close twice before Davis opened the scoring on 20 minutes. The hardworking Luke Preen forced the home side into an error and he found Davis, who fired low into the net.
Just ten minutes later, Didcot doubled their lead. Glover found space in the middle of the pitch and after driving forward to the edge of the area, he fired low into the net to put Didcot in control of the game in the first half.
The second half followed the same pattern with Didcot controlling proceedings.
Davis twice and Glover both had chances to further the lead for Didcot in the opening 20 minutes of the second half with the hosts rarely carrying a threat at the other end.
Davis should have scored a third for Didcot but his shot was saved and Preen also forced the home goalkeeper into a save.
Full back Connor McGrath was enjoying the opportunity to drive forward and twice he had shots from distance.
Leigh Bedwell was rarely forced into action and his only save of note was in the final moments when he pushed a free kick over the bar.
Didcot still had a chance to add a third but Owen Smith fired over from close range.
A comprehensive win for Didcot, who will be delighted to be in the draw for the next round.
Player of the Match - Luke Preen
Worked tirelessly throughout and a constant threat to the Bassett defence.

FOUR!
It’s a double-double!
Preen gets his second of the game following in Davis’ footsteps.
He lurks at the back post before powering the ball into the net after it falls to him from a deflection.

IT’S TWOOOO.
Preen does really well to hold onto the ball before turning his man on the edge of the area. He drove forward and smashed the ball in at the near post.
