His lack of pace ruined that. If he was fast he would been able to stay ahead of the defender while driving towards the goalkeeper and probably shoot on goal. Needed more guile to beat the second defender with this play.

Brentford are basically a litmus test for how fundamentally good you are at the nuts and bolts of defending. Can your defensive shape deny them territory to get into good crossing positions. Can your defenders hold and drop a good defensive line to stop their runners. Can your defenders dominate the box vs their aerial threats.
