As Assam moves ahead with its second capital in Dibrugarh.
Following the request of HCM Dr. @himantabiswa Dangoriya, I visited the proposed site of Assam's second capital in Dibrugarh today to review the initial planning and infrastructure framework for the Capital Complex.
Decentralisation and decongestion are the twin pillars of our governance and urban development strategy.
With a ₹500 crore investment, Assam's Second State Capital Region in Dibrugarh will bring administration, infrastructure and opportunity closer to the people of Upper Assam.
A humble request to @drm_tsk@RailNf@RailMinIndia@RailwaySeva & @AshwiniVaishnaw ji to kindly look into the issues its a concern for the passengers travelling to & from DBRG... hoping the concern to be solved in a positive way. Thank You🙏

Chaired a review meeting on the proposed City Economic Region Development Plans (CERDP) for Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar being undertaken with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The study aims to develop evidence-based economic development roadmaps for the three cities by identifying key growth drivers, infrastructure requirements, investment opportunities, policy reforms and institutional mechanisms required to accelerate sustainable urban growth. It will also assess economic clusters, workforce capabilities, market potential and urban infrastructure gaps to inform long-term development strategies.
As Assam advances towards its vision of becoming a leading growth engine of the Northeast and contributing to the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, its urban centres will play a pivotal role in driving economic transformation. The City Economic Region Development Plan (CERDP) seeks to position Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar as competitive and investment-ready growth hubs, fostering economic diversification, employment opportunities and inclusive, sustainable development.
Joined virtually by Ms. Mio Oka, Country Director, India Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank, representatives of Deloitte, and senior officers of the Government of Assam, the meeting deliberated on the roadmap for the proposed City Economic Region Development Plans.
Dibrugarh's role in Assam's growth story has always been significant.
With the creation of the State Capital Region and an additional ₹500 cr earmarked for infrastructure development, we are preparing the city for its next phase of coordinated growth, befitting its stature as Assam's Second Capital.
Another leap in Assam's healthcare sector 🏥
The Pragjyotishpur Medical College & Hospital has been dedicated to the people by Adarniya @AmitShah ji today.
This ₹675cr project will be Guwahati's second and Assam's 14th operational medical college- all set to serve the people.
A truly special day for the people of Barak Valley.
The Double Engine Govt has put all efforts to ensure holistic growth of the region.
With the Assam Secretariat, Barak Valley, now operational in Silchar, they don't have to travel to Dispur anymore - solutions will be right there in Silchar.
Assam gets its own Science City and it will be one of the best in the country.
