Hindu Genocide Karachi, Pakistan 1947

The riots in Karachi that led to the genocide of Hindus in 1947-48 followed a broader pattern of violence against Hindus during the partition of India.
These atrocities occurred when a massive influx of Muslim refugees came into Karachi, heightening tensions in the city. Initially triggered by labor strikes involving Hindu workers, the riots quickly escalated into severe communal violence.
Hindu-owned businesses were targeted, looted, and set ablaze, while Hindu residents faced attacks, leading to a mass exodus from the city. Despite government efforts to impose curfews and deploy military forces, the massacres of Hindus persisted for several days.
Ultimately, this genocide resulted in significant casualties and the displacement of many Hindus from Karachi, altering the city's demographic landscape. This violence was part of the larger wave of communal unrest that accompanied the partition, leading to significant loss of life and property among Hindu communities in Pakistan and contributing to the ongoing Hindu exodus from the region.
