A report measures what fit the window view that someone chose.
The small SKU nobody tracks. The vendor relationship holding up the business.
These questions nobody thought to ask, but make all the difference.
Those questions are our business.
Because, beyond the powerpoint is where real change exists.
Most firms find a mandate in every conversation. Some things you've built are already working are often 'wrong' or can be 'done better'. We'd rather abstain than 'manufacture' a problem for you to solve.
Consulting has a word for everything. Except, I'm wrong. In the rare instance that we do get something wrong, you can expect us to be the first to apologize - because that is where growth begins.
Promoters don't pay us for caveats. They pay us for a call we're willing to be wrong about, rarely. You shouldn't pay for half-truths. We wouldn't take your money for that either.
Most advisory firms specialize because it's easier to sell. But your organization doesn't come with separate categories. So we stopped treating them as separate practices. One firm. Four engines. No silos.
Benchmark is another way of saying where the middle sits. Promoters didn't take on the risk of building a business to land there. It's exceptional that we vie for. Period.
We'd rather commit and be wrong rarely than caveat ourselves and be useless every time. Promoters don't need a firm that covers itself the best. They need one punting alongside them.
Standards are averages. We treat them as the starting point, never the destination. You shouldn't hire us to confirm what's normal. You should hire us to find what's beyond it.
Recommendations are accountable. One protects the firm that made them. The other protects the client who has to act on them. We'd rather be accountable.
Findings are safe. But we didn't get into this business playing for safety.

There's a place for knowing what's worked elsewhere. But if the entire recommendation is based on "what your competitors are doing," you didn't need an advisory firm for that. You needed a few hours on ChatGPT. Sometimes the benchmark is the right answer.

The consultants present, the founder nods, everyone agrees the analysis was thorough, and then the deck goes into a folder and the business keeps running exactly as it did before. That gap is our actual job.
Speed without rigour gets you an answer quickly and at times, a wrong one. Rigour without speed gets you the right answer, long after the window to act on it has closed. We got tired of pretending that trade-off was real.
A closed deal that shouldn't have closed isn't a win for anyone except the finance teams. A fee we didn't take because the founder was better off without it is worth more to the relationship than the fee itself.
Most founders we sit across from aren't short on information. They have the dashboards, the reports, the market data, the three consultants who came before us and left behind decks. What they're short on is someone in the room willing to say the hard things, with their name attached.
Reports don't make decisions. People do.
Sometimes, what you need is someone who can make decisions with you, and occasionally for you, when that's what great consulting actually calls for.
Effective for some reason is supposed to mean blunt, transactional, unconcerned with how the truth feels. Nice is supposed to mean soft, agreeable, more interested in keeping things comfortable than saying it as it is.
We've never understood why those two have to sit on opposite ends of a scale.
A recommendation delivered without care is careless.
Being nice isn't about softening the truth. It's about respecting the person receiving it enough to deliver it properly. But we still tell you what you don't want to hear.
Effective and nice were never actually opposites.

If you want to explore how better anchors can translate into an 8%+ revenue uplift for your business, start with the full article here: https://t.co/0UxvnXFvqo
Your price isn’t just a number. It’s a story your customer’s brain tells itself first.
That “first number” is the anchor – and it quietly decides whether your offer feels cheap, fair or expensive.
From Steve Jobs flashing 999 before revealing 499 for the iPad, to restaurants adding a Rs. 3,450 wine no one orders so everything else feels reasonable – anchoring is everywhere.
In our new guide “Picking your price right”, we break down:
Why humans are bad at judging absolute value, but great at judging relative value
How a single premium option can pull up perception of your entire line‑up
How smart use of free trials, premium SKUs and product tiers can lift revenue 6–8% without feeling manipulative
If you’re a founder or business leader, your pricing is already anchoring decisions – the only question is whether it’s by accident or by design.
