First Lady Diana Nausėdienė participated in the First Ladies' roundtable on protecting children in the digital environment, held on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara.

D. Nausėdienė emphasized that children's online safety is an integral part of national security and called for stronger international cooperation to harness the benefits of AI while protecting children from cyberbullying, disinformation and manipulation.

First Lady Diana Nausėdienė met on Thursday at the Presidential Palace with participants of the Bring Together Lithuania 2026 and Lithuanian Diaspora Student Internship 2026 programmes.

The First Lady noted that during the years of occupation, the diaspora preserved the Lithuanian language, culture and the cause of freedom. Today its mission is different but no less important: to help Lithuania be bold, modern and competitive with its knowledge, international experience, networks, and ideas.

“We want Lithuania to be more than a summer memory for you. We want you to see an opportunity here to build a career, start a business, continue your studies, raise a family, and contribute to public life. Today Lithuania is a free democratic EU and NATO country that responsibly strengthens its security and that of its citizens. At the Global Power Women Forum 2026 at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, First Lady Diana Nausėdienė addressed the opening plenary session “Women, Power and the Architecture of Global Economies: Designing Systems That Deliver Growth, Stability and Resilience,” delivering a keynote speech entitled“Human Capital as Economic Infrastructure: Wellbeing, Education and the Foundations of Resilient Prosperity.”

“Human capital has always been, and still is, the most important capital on the planet, which enables all other types of capital,” said the First Lady.

She highlighted Lithuania’s experience in building a resilient, innovation-driven economy through investment in people, education and skills, as well as openness to international cooperation, and the ability to adapt rapidly to change, ensuring that technological progress strengthens societies.

The First Ladies discussed children's safety online, the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence, the importance of physical activity for children's well-being, and exchanged experiences on social initiatives supporting children, families and education.

Today in Tirana, First Lady Diana Nausėdienė met with Albania’s First Lady Armanda Begaj and PM’s spouse Linda Rama to discuss the Global Coalition for Child Wellbeing Online and to share approaches to safeguarding children in the digital age.

“Researchers warn that problematic internet use and excessive social‑media browsing have a direct impact on students’ physical health and emotional well‑being,” said First Lady Nausėdienė.

“States already regulate many products – from toys to food – to keep children safe. Online safety is equally important; we need real and swift solutions so our children grow up physically and emotionally healthy and psychologically resilient,” she added.

Lithuania and Albania will continue joint efforts within the Coalition to promote national, evidence‑based actions.

The First Lady of Lithuania attended the opening session of the Water Forum in Bled,Slovenia, at the invitation of Aleš Musar.

Diana Nausėdienė stressed that water security is not only an environmental issue but also a strategic pillar of climate resilience, public health, economic stability, and security.

Lithuania prioritizes groundwater protection, regional cooperation, and nature-based solutions to strengthen long-term resilience.

Lithuania is joining the Global Coalition for Child Wellbeing Online, an initiative launched by FLOTUS Melania Trump. Within the framework of this coalition, Lithuania’s First Lady, Diana Nausėdienė, together with national institutions and social partners, will promote initiatives aligned with the country’s national priorities.

Today, in Washington, D.C., at the White House, Diana Nausėdienė, alongside First Ladies from around the world, took part in the second working session of the Building the Future Together Global Coalition Summit.

According to the First Lady, Lithuania, which is focused on enhancing children’s wellbeing through education and innovation, views artificial intelligence as a tool for implementing personalized learning on a broad scale. Artificial intelligence technologies should be accessible to all students, regardless of their socio-economic background, but must be used safely and ethically.
