The govt did NOT block a Grooming Gangs Inquiry.
It voted against an amendment - attached to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill - which would have been killed had the vote passed.
THAT amendment was added to stir trouble.
Inform yourself. Educate yourself. Be smart
@CatharineHoey@RicHolden Inquiry was added as an "reasoned amendment" intended to reject Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
If passed, it would have killed the entire bill and added months/years of delays to passing the bill aimed at protecting the children.

Richard Holden defended Tory donor Frank Hester, who made racist remarks about Diane Abbott and wanted her shot, and refused to confirm if the Conservative Party continued to accept Hester's donations.

This morning I have written to Sir @Keir_Starmer with three key questions he needs to clear up about false statements he has given on the @UKLabour investigation into Diane Abbott
The only logical explanation is that he and his shadow cabinet have been lying to the British people
Sir Keir Starmer needs to come clean today
@RicHolden@Keir_Starmer@jeremycorbyn@SkyNews Yes, so happy we ended up with the ‘Let the bodies pile high in their thousands’ guy and the crash the economy woman over the free WiFi guy.
Let the public make up their mind with a general election then you coward.
