Built in 1919, this former hotel in Edgefield, South Carolina has been vacant for many years.
But @PreservationSC, a nonprofit that works to preserve historic structures statewide, hopes to see the building restored to its former glory.

PSC has worked for months to try to get an African American Heritage Grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation that would have provided a significant financial boost to start work on the c. 1835 building, but it couldn’t even get a letter of support from the church.
"At a time when South Carolina’s African American history is getting more attention than ever, a key piece might be lost soon."
Thank you, @RobertFBehre, for helping us spread the word about the historic Taveau Church.
We must do something - and soon!

Speaking of Sacred Spaces, take the time to read a wonderful article about a preservationist, organist, painter, but most of all a remarkable lady, Gaye Sanders Fisher who supports our mission to save sacred spaces around SC. https://t.co/HGk5QuN9vE
This grand old lady is looking a little right now, but PreserveSC is about to make her come back to life thanks to 1772 Foundation! #thisplacematters#1772foundationrocks
Listen to our latest interview on @SCPublicRadio with board member Walter Edgar talking about some of our projects, including efforts to preserve Endangered Sacred Spaces! https://t.co/On4yttY5SI
We are proud to announce the acquisition of 2 Meeting Street in #EdgefieldSC. This is the last intact structure from Pottersville, the community founded by Abner Landrum for the purpose of manufacturing Edgefield Pottery.
