I found this to be an astoundingly poor take and one that highlights the challenges developers face. When a subset of consumers only want “AAA cinema” we lose what makes games ‘games’. I’m sad to see this sentiment as this is why the industry is stuck in a tough place these days

This is why EA cancelled all those Star Wars games. It's easy to spend a ton of time and money only to end up with a mid-70s MC game. But I'm looking at it this way: gaming is better when we get games like this, so I'm going to keep playing it.
