The pic of me on my book cover doesn’t look like me now & my $209k student loan book isn’t really about money...but it is my memoir filled with hard to believe true stories of my f*ck ups. My work in progress is also a memoir with more hard to believe true stories of my sex life.
My neighbor cut down one of her trees that broke another tree as it fell...I think it's cool a tree limb of the second tree looks like someone extending their arm saying "peace out!" (zoom into the little white area surrounded by greenery)
I love my vintage ports! I generally only open a bottle to celebrate meaningful moments in my life...this Taylor Fladgate 2003 helped me savour the successes I earned in 2025.
The smell alone of this Cockburn's #vintage#PORTO 2016 makes me happy and fills me with joy 😁...it tastes sweet, woody, and of course there is the sharpness of the brandy. I have a few more in my collection, it'll be nice to compare the taste a decade from now. 😋
My mother's bird of paradise is #blooming for the #firsttime. I bought it for her in 2019 while I was visiting my cousin Milena on the Madeira Island of Portugal. 5 years later it's finally blooming!
This 24 year old vintage port by Royal Oporto is fortified with a lot of Brandy; Soo much so that it is thin. It still has a nice port smell & taste, but I'm happy I didn't save it for a special occasion. I'm watching A Good Year & it inspired me to open a bottle from my cellar.
enjoying a #monaco sun crush [tastes like a drink we made up in the military as poor airmen (misty-kiss: Canadian Mist and Sunkist orange soda)] in the sun 🌞 on my 45th birthday!
This vau vintage 24 yr old vintage port by Sandeman is fantastic! The smell alone gives me joy! It's sweet & smooth. After I drink it, I look for what is left in my mouth, and when I find it, the wine gently rolls across my tongue. Soo delicious, it's almost euphoric! Wow!😋🍷😁
...A guy I knew from the military liked to call me "devil." When he called the house and I answered the phone he said "what's up devil?" He's dead now, not by my hands, he died of skin cancer. 2/2
This took 8 tries. I had to negotiate with & coach my mother how to frame the shot. Still, I didn't like that she was sitting. But when my 81 yr old mother stood up, there was more coaching to focus & hold my phone straight. After a couple more shots I decided this was our best.
I wanted to write a caption for the photo, but the story behind the photo was a lot more interesting. Of course, there is more to the story. I told my mother the caption I wanted for my picture was "green guy." My mother thought a better caption would be "green devil." 1/2
