I want to share some personal news.
From the end of next week, I’m going to be away from work for a little while as I’m about to undergo treatment for kidney cancer in the safe hands of the NHS.
Personal statement:
We are of course disappointed with the by-election results, but are proud of the positive campaigns we ran in Hollingdean & Stanmer and Patcham. Well done @leila_erinj and Bruno De Oliveira, and thank you to all our volunteers who worked so hard.

I’ve campaigned with loads of @UKLabour candidates in this election and every one stands ready to throw themselves into service for their community and our country.
I’d vote for each a hundred times if I could, I hope you do just once.

“It is the will of the voters... not anything else, that chooses the President of the United States of America.”
Joe Biden says “each ballot must be counted” - and asks for “everyone to stay calm” amid rising tensions between voters.
This stinks.
Why are Conservatives using the pandemic to hand their mates million of £ in contracts when they have already failed?
They must be held to account.

This scandalous behaviour in the award of government contracts to Tory friends has become the norm under Johnson. We need an independent public inquiry now. https://t.co/tYE4UTwl4D
A former chief of defence staff says the Overseas Operations Bill "lets torturers off the hook".
That's why I joined 17 Labour colleagues in voting against it at Second Reading last month.
Tonight, Labour voted against it at Third Reading.
To the Tories' shame, it was passed.
Today I led a Parliamentary debate on why - four years after the Myanmar military unleashed a wave of violence against Rohingya civilians - there is much more still to be done by international governments to support and protect Rohingya refugees.

Shifting Labour from abstaining to opposing this appalling Bill is exactly right. Hopefully lessons will be learnt for how Labour responds to any amendments to the Spy Cops Bill if it returns to the Commons. https://t.co/WbT3hpLWLc
I asked Nadine Dorries 8 times last night, if she would meet me and work cross-party, to discuss a mental health support package for frontline NHS and Care staff.
Given how many times the Government have asked for cross-party support - her response is completely shocking.
