Purity Amidst Violence
In Gaza, surrounded by fear, destruction, and uncertainty, there is still a little girl smiling with the innocence of a child.
She is the beloved daughter of Wafaa and me—a piece of my heart and one of the most precious things in my life.
Getting what we hope and pray for at the right time is one of Allah greatest blessings. Many of us don't think much about it and often take it for granted. May Allah grant us patience while we wait, gratitude for what we have and happiness in what He has planned for us. Ameen
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"The people who were not tested in this dunya will wish their skins were cut up when they see the rewards for those who were tested."
Alḥamdulillāh for the mindset of:
If it’s khayr, it’ll happen bi idhnillāh, if it doesn’t happen then perhaps it’s not khayr.
What will be, will definitely be.
Allāh is the one in control, make duʾā & leave it to Him.
I wonder how disturbed & distressed some of us would be.
Surah Yusuf is an example:
People hurt you.
Allah will heal you.
People humiliate you.
Allah will magnify you.
People will judge you.
Allah will justify you.
— "For us Allah is Sufficient and He is the best Disposer of affairs." [3:173]
Your current situation is not evidence that Allah has forgotten you. Prophets were tested. Righteous people were tested. The strongest believers experienced hardship. Difficulty does not mean Allah hates you. Sometimes it is through difficulty that Allah raises you, purifies you, and brings you closer to Him.
It's the best day of the week.
1. Take Ghusl
2. Wear your best & apply perfume
3. Go early to Masjid
4. Read Surah Al-Kahf
5. Send lots of Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ
6. Make plenty of Dua before Maghrib — the golden hour
Don't let Jumu'ah pass like a normal Friday.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The one who reads Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays will find his entire week enlightened until the next Friday.”
But what actually is this light? Once you understand it, you will never read Surah Al-Kahf the same way again.
We spend so much time searching for better routines, stronger discipline, more self-awareness,gratitude practices, healing, consistency, and ways to“become our best selves.”But so much of that growth is already woven into Islam.Islam is not a self-improvement trend. Its purpose is far greater. But the closer you become to Allah, the more you are continuously invited to reflect, correct, purify, grow, and begin again.Maybe becoming better was never meant to be separate from becoming closer to Allah.
Sometimes you will pray for something with your whole heart and still have no idea when Allah will answer. You may get tired of waiting, question your situation, and wonder if your du’a is even being heard. But Allah knows. He knows the tears you hide, the nights you struggle through, and the hopes you are too afraid to say out loud. Nothing you take to Allah is ever unseen or forgotten. So don’t let the waiting make you lose hope. Keep making du’a, keep doing your part, and keep trusting Allah with what you cannot control. What is meant for you will never miss you, and what Allah has chosen for you will always carry wisdom, even when you cannot see it yet. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply saying, “Ya Allah, I don’t understand, but I trust You.” 🤍
Trust the timing of your life.
Some blessings are delayed because Allah is preparing you for a version of you that can handle them.
Allah's delays are never denials. 🤍
