Not only do we pay 5.2% state income taxes in Georgia, we also pay high property taxes.
Georgia has got to eliminate state income taxes and property taxes.
This should be one of the most important issues in the governors race.
The best way—and maybe only viable way—to reduce federal spending and debt is to change the incentives in Congress by enacting a balanced budget amendment and term limits.
@elonmusk would have a game-changing impact if he helped get these popular measures passed by states via Article V of the Constitution.
Today marks the 249th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
We refer to July 4th as Independence Day, but the signatures of the 56 men on that Declaration did not establish independence; it merely asserted it.
There were many battles ahead.
The American revolutionaries faced long odds: they fought against the world’s leading power while the vast majority of their fellow colonists were either opposed to independence or indifferent.
And they had a lot to lose.
All 56 signatories were prominent and successful in their respective colonies. They weren’t engaged in meaningless virtue signaling — the penalty for failure was death. When the Founding Fathers pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor in service to the cause, they meant it.
They were waging an essentially conservative revolution to restore what they considered to be ancient rights. That they articulated a powerful rationale for their actions — namely, that rights come from God, not government and that the legitimacy of government comes, not from the dictates of a king, but from the consent of the governed — proved to have enormous consequences for the cause of liberty.
In an age in which so much of politics is performative, we as Americans are lucky that the men who founded our country were willing to stand in the breach on a matter of great — and enduring — principle. They risked it all so that America could be free.
Happy Independence Day!
Today, we remember one of the most powerful moments in human history—when a group of brave visionaries stood up and declared that the people have the right to shape their own destiny.
Arguably the one of the most important documents in our nation’s history, it was the founding fathers’ proclamation that liberty, self-government, and the pursuit of happiness are worth fighting for.
Let’s honor the courage it took to make that declaration—and the responsibility we all share in protecting its legacy.
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
New Yorkers stand poised to elect a socialist crackpot from the third world who's only been a citizen for 6 years and wants to nationalize grocery stores and appropriate money from taxpayers to spend on castration drugs for children. The voters have a death wish. They want their communities to be destroyed. And they will get what they ask for. So be it.
Iran remains an existential threat to Israel, America and the world while this evil regime remains in place. Their repeated refrain of ‘Death to America’ says it all.
This is not the time to negotiate. It is time to finish the job.
Here’s my view:
I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life.
We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever.
So I say bring him back.
If he’s a bad dude or a terrible member of the team, fire him for that.
How does Georgia @SenatorWarnock explain his vote against cloture on the Laken Riley Act, which is named after one of his constituents who was murdered by an illegal alien?
Does he expect everyone, including her parents, to forget this vote by his next reelection in 4 years?
This morning, the Twenty-Second Statewide Grand Jury released its final report. This Grand Jury was tasked with investigating vaccine manufacturers and their production process for vaccines following the COVID-19 pandemic.
While we are still reading through the report and its recommendations, it details that, through deception and taking “advantage of scientific journal infrastructure” to hide adverse events from the public, Big Pharma engaged in a "pattern of deceptive and obfuscatory behavior." Big Pharma brought in billions of dollars in profit, and the federal government amplified bogus “studies,” all while suppressing any opposition that went against their preferred narrative. Instead of federal agencies acting as a backstop to bad incentives, they worked closely with Big Pharma as they cut corners, even becoming unpaid advertisers on their behalf.
The Grand Jury also details the frustrations of many, stating, "these sponsors have taken in billions of taxpayer dollars for creating and selling their vaccines; they cannot be sued if something goes wrong with them; they have access to critical information about deaths related to a side effect of their products; and the public does not have access to that information.”
The Grand Jury has made a number of recommendations that should be followed. The status quo cannot continue. The American people deserve transparency on how Big Pharma is using their federal tax dollars, and they deserve regulating entities that operate as watchdogs, not cheerleaders.
A statement from President Donald J. Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance:
The most foolish and inept thing ever done by Congressional Republicans was allowing our country to hit the debt ceiling in 2025. It was a mistake and is now something that must be addressed. Meanwhile, Congress is considering a spending bill that would give sweetheart provisions for government censors and for Liz Cheney. The bill would make it easier to hide the records of the corrupt January 6 committee—which accomplished nothing for the American people and hid security failures that happened that day. This bill would also give Congress a pay increase while many Americans are struggling this Christmas.
Increasing the debt ceiling is not great but we’d rather do it on Biden’s watch. If Democrats won’t cooperate on the debt ceiling now, what makes anyone think they would do it in June during our administration? Let’s have this debate now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn’t give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.
Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country.
Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then CALL THEIR BLUFF. It is Schumer and Biden who are holding up aid to our farmers and disaster relief.
THIS CHAOS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF WE HAD A REAL PRESIDENT. WE WILL IN 32 DAYS!
I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.
