See you in another two years, Tweeps. I'll complain through initial channels, too; nothing will change. When @ParkingTPS@TrafficServices@TPSOperations decide parking on the sidewalk is necessary compared to four seconds of additional effort, they're just gonna do it.
Tweeting for the first time in 2 years because: Why does .@TPSOperations feel entitled to park on the sidewalk? There's parking on Connolly, and Laughton, right behind him, a few feet away.
I don't want to defund the police, entirely. Just don't park on the goddamn sidewalk and then lie to the face of citizens who politely question your entitled behaviour.
There is absolutely, positively no reason all of these officers couldn't have parked without blocking the sidewalk. But they're entitled and dishonest, so they park wherever they feel entitled to, for non-emergency calls, for as long as they please, for no reason whatsoever.
When asked, the SUPERVISOR - not just a rank and file cop - said that he "needed" to park there to "investigate a traffic incident." The investigation consisted of chatting with one or two other cops, also parked on the sidewalk, for between 30-75 minutes per cop.
@eviltrout So much! There might be/is some mysterious element of seasonal/cyclical variation happening. But even just discussing trends or data from different places gets one labelled a "COVidiot" or a "doomer." Anyway lots today on the variance, ie: https://t.co/06kA8q0utv
Short thread:
Cases are starting to plummet quickly.
This isn’t from vaccines (yet).
Possible we may be starting see a combination of seasonality on our side and likely seeing herd effects kick in.

The essential first step to using the self-checkout is muting it. Pressing the "volume" button almost always shuts it up immediately, transforming the experience from "literal torture" to "somewhat tolerable".
@robyndoolittle Whoah, .@angie_rasmussen herself! Do you have any specific comment on this "one second" guidance, Dr. Rasmussen?
Nothing on the Simcoe Muskoka health unit's web pages contain this language, either.
So a lot of concern about this report in the @globeandmail that people are getting infected with B.1.1.7 in the course of a few minutes. This might be a good time to clarify some things about transmission in real life and the definition of "close contact" for contact tracing.
“As we move forward, a fundamental right of children is the right to an education, and an in-person education. This shouldn’t be compromised.” A group of doctors across Canada say schools should remain open. https://t.co/eB9J900rjI
@DanSternTweets My only hope for keeping all the pieces of all the puzzles we have is to never let the children do them, touch them, or get anywhere near them.
To be clear these are puzzles for said children.
