The death toll keeps mounting. Another BLO appointed and engaged by the @ECISVEEP has taken his own life under the inhuman pressure of a HURRIED, CHAOTIC and POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED SIR process. Shri Haradhan Mondal of 249 Ranibandh AC, Part No. 206, died by suicide. In his suicide note, he explicitly held inhuman nature of the task responsible for his decision.

Over 50 lives have already been lost to panic, anxiety, exhaustion and fear engineered by a voter-cleansing operation designed for BJP’s electoral gain.

What should have been a methodical process has instead been bulldozed through by a pliant, complicit Election Commission, bending its spine to serve the political arithmetic of ONE PARTY and the ego of ONE MAN.

And as for the BJP, if people drop dead from fatigue, despair or terror, it is an acceptable collateral cost, a convenient footnote in their power play.

History is watching. Bengal will not forgive and Bengal will not forget.

Sebaashray was conceived with the vision of upholding the fundamental right to accessible and quality healthcare for all. Guided by the spirit of compassion and the duty of service to humanity, I had launched Sebaashray last year to extend free medical care not only to the people of the Diamond Harbour but also to countless individuals from across Bengal. It fills me with deep satisfaction that Sebaashray became a trusted symbol of care, faith, and reassurance for the people it sought to serve. I had promised that Sebaashray would return, and today, that promise stands fulfilled.

Beginning 1st December 2025, Sebaashray will once again open its doors to the people of Diamond Harbour, continuing till 22nd January 2026, culminating in a Mega Camp from 24th to 30th January 2026. Each camp will remain operational from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Anchored in the principles of service, empathy, and care for the distressed, Sebaashray returns, stronger, broader in its reach, and steadfast in its mission to serve every individual in need.

It is unfortunate and deeply concerning that the Prime Minister of India has chosen to politicise a natural disaster without waiting for a proper investigation, especially while people in North Bengal are grappling with the aftermath of devastating floods and landslides.

When the entire local administration and police is engrossed in relief and rescue operations, the BJP leaders chose to go to the affected areas with a large convoy of cars and under security cover of the central forces and that too without any information to local police and administration. How can the state administration , local police or the TMC be blamed for the incident ?

The PM has blamed the TMC and the West Bengal Government outright without a shred of verified evidence, legal inquiry, or administrative report. This is not just a political low, it is a breach of the constitutional ethos the Prime Minister has sworn to uphold. In any democracy, the law must take its own course, and only due process can determine culpability - not a tweet from a political pulpit.

The incident occurred in a constituency where the people themselves have elected a BJP MLA. Yet the Prime Minister sees no contradiction in painting the incident as a reflection of TMC’s so-called “strongmanship.” Such sweeping, unsubstantiated generalisations are not only immature, but also, they are unbecoming of the highest office in the land.

Coming from a Prime Minister who visited Manipur only 964 days after it was engulfed in ethnic violence, the sudden concern for Bengal appears less like empathy and more like opportunistic political theatre.

Yes, we all condemn violence, unequivocally. But this is not the time for partisan chest-thumping. This is a time to help and heal.

It’s also evident that BJP is resorting to the tired North Bengal vs South Bengal narrative, hoping to polarise people ahead of elections. Let us be clear: Bengal is one - emotionally, culturally, and politically.

I urge the Prime Minister: Listen to the elected state government, not just your party colleagues. You are the Prime Minister of India, not just of BJP. Your responsibility lies in nation-building, not narrative-building.

At this critical hour, let us not deepen divides. Let us stand united beyond party lines, to serve the people who need us the most. Let’s leave politics for another day.

Today, the long arm of the law has finally caught up. The Hon'ble Calcutta High Court has held the FRRO (Delhi) detention and deportation order unlawful and directed the immediate repatriation of six people, including the pregnant woman from BIRBHUM, who were labelled “BANGLADESHI MIGRANTS” and expelled.

This judgement lays bare a CRUEL and SYSTEMATIC campaign of harassment aimed at Bengalis by the Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars. We will hold the ones responsible to account, in courts, in public debate and at the polls. The people of Bengal will not tolerate XENOPHOBIA, HUMILIATION, or the POLITICS OF EXCLUSION. Come 2026, those who trafficked in fear and persecution will face a decisive verdict from the electorate.

Justice has begun to be served. Our resolve to protect the dignity, rights and language of the people of Bengal remains unshaken.

This is nothing but an insidious attempt to introduce NRC through the backdoor in Bengal, a state where BJP has neither the mandate nor the moral right to govern. They are targeting Bengali-speaking citizens to create fear and insecurity, and attempting to replicate Assam's Detention Camp Model. If this is the extent of BJP’s arrogance without even having a foothold in Bengal, one can only imagine the dystopia they would unleash if ever entrusted with power.

This is no longer just a political battle. It is a fight to preserve the democratic, pluralistic, and inclusive ethos of our Constitution. We must not, and will not, allow BJP’s divisive, anti-people, and authoritarian agenda to take root in Bengal.

Bengal will resist. Bengal will not bow.

It has been over 55 DAYS since the PAHALGAM terror attack. It is deeply concerning that in a democracy neither the mainstream media, members of the opposition, nor the judiciary has stepped forward to raise these five critical questions before the Government of India. However, as a citizen committed to the nation’s well-being and as a public representative entrusted with accountability, I raise these five questions before the Government of India:

🔴 Border Breach and Civilian Casualties:

1. How did four terrorists manage to infiltrate the border and launch an attack that killed 26 innocent civilians? Where is the accountability for this massive breach in national security ?

🔴 Intelligence Failure and IB Chief’s Extension:

2. If this was an intelligence failure, why was the Intelligence Bureau Chief granted a ONE YEAR EXTENSION, that too barely a month after the attack? Why was he REWARDED RATHER THAN HELD ACCOUNTABLE ? WHAT IS THE COMPULSION ?
If the GoI can conveniently use PEGASUS spyware against opposition leaders(including me), journalists and even judges, what stops it from using the same tools against terrorist networks and suspects?

🔴 Status of the Terrorists:

3. Where are the FOUR TERRORIST responsible for this brutal, religion-based massacre? ARE THEY DEAD OR ALIVE ? If they have been neutralized, why has the government failed to make a clear statement? And if they haven’t, WHY IS THE SILENCE ?

🔴 PoJK and the CEASEFIRE COMPROMISE:

4. When will India reclaim Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK)? Why hasn’t the government officially responded to the U.S. President’s claim that he persuaded India into a ceasefire with promises of trade - Just as the nation stood together irrespective of their cast, creed religion and political affinity, celebrating the triumph of righteousness and saluting the valour and sacrifice of our armed forces? WHY WERE THE EMOTIONS OF 140 CRORE INDIANS DISREGARDED?
What led to such a compromise?

🔴 Global Diplomacy and Hypocrisy:

5. After reaching out to 33 COUNTRIES post-Pahalgam in the last one month, how many extended explicit support to India?

If we are truly a VISHWAGURU and the world’s fourth-largest economy, why did the IMF and World Bank approve $1 BILLION and $40 BILLION in financial assistance and long-term investments to PAKISTAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PAHALGAM ATTACK ? How did a nation repeatedly involved in cross-border terrorism not only escape global scrutiny but get rewarded ?

And more shockingly: Why was Pakistan appointed Vice-Chair of the UN Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee barely a month later?

NB: Over ₹2000000000000 (TWO LAKH CRORES) has been spent on external affairs over the past 10 years. The Indian public deserves transparency, accountability and results- NOT SILENCE AND SPIN!

Honoured to be part of the All-Party Parliamentary Delegation representing INDIA’s resolute stance against terrorism on the global stage. Day 1 in Tokyo began with a solemn tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi ji at Edogawa which stands as an enduring symbol of India–Japan relations and our shared values of peace and non-violence.

At the Embassy of India, we were briefed by @AmbSibiGeorge on the significance of this outreach in strengthening bilateral cooperation on security. We presented India’s unwavering commitment to counter-terrorism during our meeting with H.E. Mr. Takeshi Iwaya, Foreign Minister of Japan and expressed our gratitude for Japan’s consistent support in calling for justice against perpetrators of terror.

In our interaction with leading Japanese think tanks, we discussed regional security imperatives, state-sponsored terrorism and India's policy of zero tolerance. The response was heartening, with strong support expressed for India’s efforts to uphold harmony.

Our delegation also called on Mr. Yoshihide Suga, former Prime Minister of Japan and Chairman of the Japan–India Association. We reaffirmed India’s resolve to fight cross-border terrorism and deeply appreciate his commitment to reinforcing Indo–Japanese cooperation in this shared cause. India stands firm. Terrorism has no place in our world.

#Sebaashray sustains its remarkable momentum on Day 4!

Today, across the 41 Sebaashray health camps in the Diamond Harbour Assembly Constituency, 15,785 INDIVIDUALS received free, high-quality medical services. Among them:
🔬 8,467 diagnostic tests were conducted
💊 8,108 people received medications free-of-cost
🏥 360 patients were referred to specialty hospitals for critical care

Notably a 9-YEAR-OLD BOY, diagnosed with CYANOTIC HEART DISEASE was referred to the Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital for surgery. Meanwhile, 70-year-old Hossain Mollick, who experienced a CARDIAC ARREST was PROMPTLY transferred to the Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital for IMMEDIATE TREATMENT.

This is the Diamond Harbour model in action: a model where politics is not a quest for power, but a commitment to SERVICE. It’s about ensuring that those who need support the most, those often left behind, are empowered to lead a dignified life!

In cases of sexual offences, justice should be SWIFT and SEVERE!

Today, the POCSO Court at Baruipur sentenced the accused in the horrific rape and murder of a minor girl in Joynagar to death, delivering the verdict within an unprecedented 62 days.

I extend my gratitude to the @WBPolice , particularly the SIT led by SP Palash Dhali for their extraordinary work in filing the chargesheet in a record 25 days.

The next big step is the nationwide implementation of the Aparajita Anti-Rape Bill because strong legislation is the only way to create a deterrent against such atrocities.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone for their kind wishes following my recent eye surgery. Since the road accident in 2016, I have faced ongoing challenges with my vision and this was my eighth surgery. I am glad to share that the procedure went well and I am doing fine. While I am on the mend, I have to follow certain post-operative guidelines and precautions to ensure a smooth healing and recovery. Sad to hear about the passing of veteran CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury Ji. While our political ideologies often clashed, I had the privilege of interacting with him during several opposition meetings over the last couple of years. His simplicity, profound understanding of public policy and keen insight into parliamentary affairs were truly remarkable. My thoughts are with his family, friends and all those who admired him. Given the harrowing statistic of a RAPE EVERY 15 MINUTES, the demand for a COMPREHENSIVE TIME-BOUND ANTI-RAPE LAW is more pressing than ever. BENGAL is leading the charge with its ANTI-RAPE BILL. The Union must now take decisive action - whether by ordinance or BNSS amendment in the upcoming parliament session to ensure that justice is both swift and severe, with TRIALS AND CONVICTIONS concluded in 50 DAYS.
