Year 2 have been researching famous explorer and adventurer Marco Polo. After discovering that he travelled through deserts of Mongolia on camels to reach China, they watercolour painted their mind maps in desert colours and added their researched facts. #tellinghistory
Reception have had a fantastic #AccessAllArts week exploring the artist Jackson Pollack, famous for making splashy, drippy and messy paintings! Inspired by his work, children rolled marbles or dragged string across their chosen animal silhouettes to create their own unique art.
The Steel Pan Ensemble had a fabulous experience performing alongside a string group and woodwind group at St Catherine’s Primary School yesterday evening. The session was organised and led by Gareth Hughes from @SevernArts and was thoroughly enjoyed by all! #WeAreMusic

As part of their Stone Age topic, Year 3 have been learning about rocks and their different properties. Today, they have been scientists and have investigated which rock would have been the best one to use as a spear during the Stone Age. #STEMlearning#makinghistory
Our Gardening Club went pond dipping. The children worked in teams and found frogs, pond snails, baby newts and our resident fish. They also maintained their mini gardens and were excited to see that their grass seed had already germinated. #ponddipping#gardeningclub#exploring

Reception had a fun start to the new half term by receiving a book and some exotic fruits to ignite their new topic 'Handa's Surprise'. The children were brilliantly adventurous in exploring the new fruits, talking about them and some tasting them. #totallytropicaltastes
