Infant classes took part in a Robotics Expo, designing their own fish to become robots through the magic of Sphero. Year 6 VEX Robotics Teams demonstrated their skills and explained the process of building and coding their complex robots.
Stage 2 students today enjoyed a visit to the Senior School Science laboratories where they learned about atoms and chemical reactions from a number of experiments before conducting two of their own.
Year 6 students were today applying their knowledge of Cartesian planes to map out coordinates during a Mathematics lesson using the Sphero robot. Students had to code the Sphero to avoid a collision and accurately navigate around obstacles at certain coordinates.
Junior School Robotics teams collaboratively working and problem solving to engineer their robot. Itβs great to have our Senior School students assisting.
Year 5 students are collaboratively working towards answering the question... if you could design a drone to help with a problem in the world today, what would you design?
Thank you to 5 Gold for this morningβs Junior School Assembly. We remembered the feast day of Saint Mary MacKillop. Merit awards were presented to students. Congratulations to Lucy who received a special award for sportsmanship, justice and fair play.
Elisabeth in Year 5 has initiated a Covid mask making project for patients at the Chris OBrien Lifehouse. Collaborating with Year 8 TAS students they started making them today!
Happy 100 days Kindergarten! The Kinder students have had a great celebrating their 100th day school with different activities and a visit from Mrs Dickinson.
Year 3 students used their computational thinking for their Maths lesson to create a treasure hunt with the Sphero robot. This involved collaborative problem solving as algorithms were made to navigate Sphero.
