#LeapYear#Giveaway
40,000 teachers walking away year on year from teaching, number rising not falling. So - pay rises haven't helped (yet, but I don't think they will), ECF hasn't helped, workload reduction groups and reports, CPD offers, wellbeing Wednesdays etc etc
Why? 4 things *still* remain problematic (IMO)....
Toxic schools need identifying and sorting - both in terms of workload and politics. We need an anon exit interview service from gov where results can be viewed by prospective job candidates.
PPA allowance - needs doubling or tripling.
OFSTED gradings need to go (I'm unsure if Labour 'report cards' would be better but willing to wait).
Flexibility - more schools need to support flexible working where it's possible to.
Teacher burnout is real and unfortunately, becoming increasingly common, which is why it is more important than ever to make sure that you are putting your wellbeing first.

@Alex_Bramley3 Golly at least you got it. That’s one of those where you need to think a bit more. I always do it for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Now my phone just auto corrected it to that… but I always feel it’s “day of the mothers” so it should be Mothers’ Day.
@DeputyGrocott So far, I’ve generated a couple of AI images thanks to Bing to support EAL learners etc when I couldn’t find the image I wanted with a quick google searches
Do you know what’s also damaging to children?
Ridiculous amounts of supply
Masses of teachers leaving
Lack of funding for SEND & special schools
Overstretched mental health services
Unqualified staff teaching GCSE
Huge Ofsted pressure
Cost of living
But yep those 6 strike days 🙄
@Conservatives@JamesCleverly I’ve lived in two other countries and I am pretty sure that Britain is not the best country in the world. Neither are the ones I lived it but that’s a big boast!
📚🤗Our #SundaySweetener is for The Grand Hotel of Feelings which is featured in our Literature Review this month! Repost, Favourite and tag a friend for an extra entry! Must be following and we will announce after 9pm.
@madamelanguages Is this secondary? If so have a read through the British councils guide on languages for the future. Maybe linking needs to business might help motivate them.
