Putting that together with the rest of the week, on Monday Wirral had 722 runners and Knowsley 257 while Sefton had over 600 yesterday. In total, over 2400 children have competed in Primary cross country on Merseyside in the last 3 days.
Tonight saw a record breaking second League race at Newsham Park. St Sebastian's and St Cuthbertโs both provided full staffs to marshall the event. Quite appropriate as the number of runners over the six races was a new record of 852 children.
Merseyside Primary Schools are now National Cross Country Champions in the Year 5 Girls, Year 5 Boys and Year 6 Girls. Year 6 Boys were bronze medallists. In addition, Year 7 Boys retained the National title they won in Year 6 with the Year 7 Girls silver medallists.
The first race of the Liverpool and District Primary Schools' Cross Country League season takes place this afternoon in Croxteth Park.

The Liverpool Primary Schools' City Championships takes place at Wavertree tomorrow, 25th April. I have emailed schools with details of presentations; trophy, certificate and medal collection.

I have just spent an hour walking the course and parts of Wavertree are under water. Whilst we could have redirected the course, the forecast is for 90/95% chance of rain between 3 and 5

City Championships is next Tuesday 14th March at Wavertree.
