🐟What if fisheries should be treated like economic infrastructure?

We talk about:🚧 Roads 🚆 Rail⚓ Ports⚡ Power
But fisheries also connect resources to industries, jobs, trade and livelihoods.
The real question:
How much economic value is Africa capturing from its fisheries?

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

Africa is building bigger ports.

But bigger ports do not automatically mean lower logistics costs.

The real question is:
How quickly can cargo move from ship to market?

🚢 CAN NIGERIA REALLY BREAK LAGOS’ GRIP ON TRADE?

Federal government has approved the modernisation of Onne, Rivers, Delta and Calabar ports.
#PrimeAxisInsight #MaritimeIntelligence #MaritimeEconomy

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

Nigeria has more than one maritime gateway.

So why does much of its port economy still revolve around Lagos?

With Onne, Rivers, Delta and Calabar now approved for modernisation, the bigger question is:
Can Nigeria rethink the economics of its entire port system?

The Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC) has intensified its push for seamless, transparent and predictable port operations, calling for deeper digitalisation, stronger inter-agency coordination and streamlined trade processes.

One of our biggest challenges in acquiring those assets is access to capital.
This lifting is more like a check by the USA. It is not only that it is affecting Nigerian-owned or Nigerian-flag vessels. No. It affects any vessel that is originating from Nigeria.

🚢 IMAGINE OWNING THE RESTAURANT, THE FOOD, THE CUSTOMERS AND THE KITCHEN… but

… hiring someone else every time you need a spoon. 😂

We have the coastline.
We have the ports.
We have the cargo.
We have the market.
Where are the Nigerian-owned ships? #PrimeAxis

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

🚢 Nigeria has the cargo.
It has the ports.
It has the coastline.
It has the market.

Why is it so difficult to finance the ships that could carry the cargo we already generate?

The dry port regulatory transition matters.
But the handover itself isn't the outcome.

The real questions are:
Does cargo move faster?
Does predictability improve?
Do road, rail and terminals work better together?

#PrimeAxisInsight #MaritimeEconomy #NPA

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

Nigeria doesn't simply need more dry ports.

It needs dry ports that function as parts of one national cargo system.

Infrastructure is one thing.
Logistics architecture is another.
The economic value is in the connection.

🎯 Operation Blue Green connects intelligence with physical compliance checks.
Vessels were inspected for documentation, certification, surcharges and cabotage compliance.
The bigger question:
Can better intelligence produce more focused enforcement?
#NIMASA #MaritimeIntelligence

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

Morning

🚢 What changes when maritime enforcement is guided by intelligence before assets are deployed?

NIMASA’s Operation Blue Green is testing that approach in Lagos.

🔎 Intelligence → 🎯 Targeting → ⚓ Enforcement

🌍 Nigeria’s coastal talent could become an African export.
The pathway:
🇳🇬 Participation → ⚓ Capability → 🏢 Ownership → 🚀 Enterprise → 🌍 Export

It is building expertise and companies capable of serving markets beyond Nigeria.

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

🌊 What if Nigeria’s maritime talent is already along its coastline?
Nigeria needs to:
🔎 Identify → 🎓 Train → 📜 Certify → ⚓ Experience → 💼 Employ → 🌍 Export

Has Nigeria built the system to convert it into capability.

🚢 A competitive port needs more than infrastructure.

Businesses need to know:
💰 The cost.
⏱️ The time required.
📋 The requirements.

Abdullazeez Mukaila argues that clarity around charges and performance must become central to Nigeria’s port reforms.
What should change first?

Can Omi Èkó change the scale and perception of water transportation in Lagos?

[PrimeAxis @PrimeAxis_News]

But the bigger question remains:
Can these opportunities become one connected economic system?

🌊 Lagos has the waterways.
But the bigger question is:

What economic ecosystem will Lagos build around them?
