I wanted to do number talk with my 5th graders today that could lead us to discover the distributive property. I put 3x9 up. They thought I was insane bc it was so easy! But once I got them thinking of different ways to solve, not memorization, their thoughts were incredible!!

Unsure of my thoughts about graphic novels...on one hand kids who never read are. But on the other, they have all the pictures to help them understand the book, so it’s hard for me to tell if their comprehension is improving. Helllpppp #iteachela #reading #reading
