Computer doesn’t understand dates. It only understands numbers (0s and 1s).
That means “June 1, 2026” means nothing to a computer.
It needs everything converted into a format it can process.

@_DeejustDee 3️⃣ Why do this?
Because numbers are easier to work with than dates.
With timestamps:
➝ Systems compare time instantly
➝ Logs stay consistent across servers
➝ Time zones stop being a problem
@_DeejustDee 2️⃣ So instead of storing “2026-06-01”, the system stores a number like 1767225600.
To us, it looks random. To the computer, it’s exact time.
@_DeejustDee 1️⃣ Just like computers don't understand English and rely on binary (0s and 1s), they don't understand dates and times the way humans do either.
Instead, they use something called Unix Timestamp (Unix Epoch Time).
10 days to go!!! Now that everything is on track, we can sit back and watch God do his thing yet again. 🧚♀️🧚♀️
