Prince Celebration 2026 Panel – The Next Ten Years
The first panel of the day, and honestly there wasn't a huge amount of news to report. All phones were locked away, so there are no photos or footage to share, but a few interesting points did emerge from the discussion.
One topic was the Diamonds and Love project, which was inherited from the previous management team. Primary Wave and Prince Legacy explained that they felt Diamonds and Pearls and the Love Symbol album each deserved to be treated as individual releases, as Prince originally intended, rather than being combined into a single package. This approach gave us the excellent Diamonds and Pearls Super Deluxe Edition, but there was no update on any future plans for the Love Symbol album.
Londell McMillan also noted that revisiting a past album properly requires input and participation from the people involved in its original creation. That comment may help explain why we've heard little to nothing regarding the previously announced Parade reissue.
There was also brief discussion about the future of Paisley Park. Ideas included revisiting development of "The Egg," a project Prince himself never fully completed, as well as the possibility of creating a larger Paisley Park campus that could incorporate the nearby creek area. However, the way these plans were discussed suggested they remain very much in the early stages, with nothing concrete currently in place.
Overall, an interesting conversation, but one that offered more insight into the issues faced cataloguing such a vast archive than making any major announcements.
