@EdeValois ‘Elisa...’ Charles was doing his best to be more responsible. Though when it came to his princess, he’d never get far. ‘Which one?’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

You’ll find mine more agreeable.

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘As far as you’ll let me, princess.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘Then I’ll come to Spain. They hate me more there.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘He knows the least of all, Elisa.’ Charles ran his hand through her unruly hair.

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘No, nothing. Not an inkling.’ The rumours had been swirling for months.

@EdeValois ‘My room has to be the warmest. We can’t have the crown prince catching a chill.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois Charles tangles her up beneath the covers, half awake, half dreaming.

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois Charles threw his arms around her tight. ‘So you have to stay. For Rex.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘Take him. Tame him. He’d be the talk of the court.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois A gulp at the very thought of the lion. ‘We’ll take him.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘And I’ll find you. We have the best hunters. You wouldn’t last a night without your luxuries, Elisa.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois He pulled her closer again. Until the King of Spain himself storms the palace to collect you.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘What makes you think I’ll let you leave so easily?’ He hands were wrapped around her wrists.

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois Charles feigned innocence, and fought the urge to tease her further. ‘Elisa...’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘I couldn’t bear a lineage of chins like those.’

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois ‘Why would you ever leave me?’ He was desperate to kiss her, but he couldn’t let it be the last time.

[Charles Stuart @PrinceCharles_I]

@EdeValois He began to stutter, as he always did when emotion overtook his intellect. ‘Then it’ll be war.’
