A lot of people don’t know that I lost my dad when I was barely 3 years old. It was my mum raising me and my siblings, trying her best to keep everything together. Anyone who understands that kind of beginning knows the journey is never a smooth one.

Sometimes when I share my results here, people assume I just got some huge capital from somewhere and everything started from there. 😂

Like I just woke up one day with a big account and things magically worked out.

But the truth is… I built everything from scratch.

Nothing was handed to me.

Everything I have today was grown step by step.

First, let’s kill a myth immediately:
Flipping is NOT gambling.

I didn’t start by risking my whole $1,000 into one trade.

I started with less than $400. Just a small part I was okay risking.

First trade went into profit.

Now this is the important part!
I used some of the profit I made from that first trade to open another position.

So even if the second trade failed, my main capital was still safe.

Second trade also went into profit.

Again, I used part of the new profit to open another trade.

That’s how I kept building it.

As the profits grew, my position sizes grew too.

By the time I was opening bigger trades, I wasn’t risking my original $1,000 anymore.

I was capitalizing on my profit.

That’s how the account grew step by step to over $30K.

Simple strategy:
Start small.
Secure profit.
Use part of the profit to grow.
Protect your main capital.

Find the thing that worked. The trade. The style. The setup. Whatever it was.

Repeat it.
That’s it. That’s the whole secret.

I just need to wait for the same conditions that have given me profit before, and I do it again. And again. And again.

If you have a style that has made you money in the past, that is your goldmine. You don't need a new one. You just need to scale it up. Do it more. Do it consistently.

That’s how you get to $100k. That’s how you get to any number.

A few years ago, I made a promise to myself. I said, "If I ever make 150 million naira, I’m flying out. I’m going to stay in Canada or UK. I’m going to sit down, breathe, and figure my life out from there."

It was my escape plan. My idea of "making it." I genuinely believed that once I hit that number, I needed to leave my current environment to actually feel the success.

I made the money long time ago but why am I still here? Why haven't I booked the flight?

I realized something profound. Once I hit that milestone, my mind didn't say "pack your bags." Instead, my mind started dreaming bigger.

But then it hit me. The isn’t really about the money right now. It’s about the option.

I can go to Canada tomorrow if I want to. But I can also stay. I can fly out, spend two weeks there, realize the weather is cold and the food is different, and fly back. I can spend that money here in Nigeria, living life on my own terms. I can do whatever I want.

That is the freedom trading gives you.
It’s about the power of choice.

You can afford the rent in CAD, but you can also afford the rent in Lekki. You can afford to stay, you can afford to go, and you can afford to come back.

I remember when I was still figuring things out. I was hungry and ambitious. I wanted results, but I also wanted clarity. And one thing I refused to accept was this idea that I had to suffer endlessly to “deserve” success.

A 28-year-old man messaged me.

He told me everything his mentor had been feeding him.

Now let me say this, at 28, you’re not a child. You’ve lived. You’ve worked. You’ve seen life. And now someone is telling you that years of instability is standard.

Do you know what that does?

It lowers your expectations.

It conditions you to tolerate what should alarm you.

It makes you feel like pain is progress.

He loses money because the approach doesn’t work.
His mentor tells him it’s normal.
He feels relieved.
He continues the same way.
He loses again.

That’s not growth.

That’s normalization of mediocrity.

I didn’t become profitable because I suffered longer than others.

I became profitable because I corrected faster than most.

Time does not fix a broken approach.

Honest correction does.

That’s the difference between being in the market for years…

And actually growing in it.

Suffering is not a strategy.

The right information and the courage to act on it — is what keeps you ahead.

I’ve never really said this out loud before.
But late 2024 humbled me in a way nobody saw.
On the outside, I was still “SABIIGAL.”
But on the inside? Not to talk about.

That season taught me something quietly painful:

You can be skilled and still lose if your mind isn’t settled. You can know your strategy and still sabotage yourself if your heart is heavy.

If you’re going through something right now, relationship tension, family stress, school pressure, financial urgency, don’t force yourself to trade just because you feel behind.

Nobody tells you that part.

They’ll tell you to master risk management.
They’ll tell you to journal.
They’ll tell you to backtest.

You don’t prove strength by trading through pain.

Fix up and come back.

The market will still be there next week.
Next month.
Next year.

But your peace? That one you must protect!
