Someone retweeted this to my timeline, and I saw how people were dragging her. I was confused and saw that it was because she called herself a doctor.

But isn't she a doctor?
A veterinary doctor, yes, and proud of it. Vet doctors spend six years in school just like medical doctors, and they learn about dozens of species, their diseases, anatomy, surgeries, and treatments. From tiny hamsters to large livestock, they master what human doctors only have to learn for one species.

A Doctor of Animals is also a doctor.
A Doctor of Humans ( Medical Doctor) is also a doctor.
She spent six years in school, like Medical Foctors

Stop undermining hard work
. She studied, she sacrificed, she earned her degree, and she is every bit a doctor.
It's not everything we should gatekeep.

been seeing this on the TL since yesterday. Let me address it.

Like you said, she had a scan recently. There is no reason she should be sent for scan in labour to estimate gestational age/weight or anything.

And even if they are concerned about the placenta site, that should have been addressed at 36 weeks max!...

It boils down to the fact again... how many hospitals have ultrasound scans in he labour room... and how many doctors/Obstetricians can scan?

Every Obgyn around the world must be proficient in scanning...

The only reason they should send to the ultrasound is if they suspect a concealed abruptio placenta or they are worried about an unstable lie or multiple gestation with complications or a dire emergency where surgery may be done and care must be in place.

A midwife must accompany a woman in labour for a scan... especially in tertiary centres. Labour can be anywhere, in the labour room, gates of the hospital, theatre, car and in your scan room... its better safe than sorry...

This boils down to guidelines that must be followed.

However, sending a woman in active labour as you said means she has been examined and she is 4cm and above dilated with contractions... I don't think anybody will send that kind of person for scan.

The people who are sent to you are people who they think are on early labour and they progress rapidly in your scanning room.

No one sends or no one should send women in active labour to the scan room.

And Yes, as long as you are an obstetric sonographer, you will see women who come for ultrasound and do into active labour...

🍃Proof of life🍃

Today i finished my surgery rotation as a house officer(junior doctor) in @officialunth . Ended the department with cardiothoracic surgery which I did for 1 month.

In the last 1 month I had no social life, no time for self or any other person, almost always in the hospital, almost always on call, almost always working and with all these I was still owed🤧 by @MDCNOfficial . But as the saying goes "whatever has a beginning has an end“, glad to say I’m done, it was a roller coaster.

Some of the procedural skills i acquired in cardiothoracic surgery:

- Closed tube thoracotomy drainage (CTTD)
- Pleurodesis
- Peripherally inserted central catheterization (PICC)
- Thoracentesis

Some surgeries I observed:

- Lobectomy
- thymectomy
- rigid oesophagoscopy + oesophageal dilation
- sternotomy

Our Amiable Chairman and Co-Founder, Dr. Peace Amaraegbulam, made notable academic and professional contributions at the just concluded 66th Annual General Scientific Meeting (AGSM) of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), held from February 8th to 12th, 2026, in Accra at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA).

The conference, themed “Capacity Building in Surgery: Developing the Next Generation of Surgeons in West Africa,” convened surgeons, researchers, and health professionals from across the sub-region to advance discussions on strengthening surgical training and systems in West Africa.

Dr. Amaraegbulam delivered impactful scholarly contributions at the meeting, including a poster presentation titled “Building Capacity for Effective Treatment of Delayed Presenting Clubfoot.” The presentation was delivered in collaboration with Jen Everhart and Rosalind Owen and addressed practical, context-specific approaches to improving outcomes for children who present late for clubfoot treatment—an ongoing challenge in many low-resource settings.

The work underscored the importance of capacity building, training, and collaborative models of care in improving access and treatment success.
In addition, Dr. Amaraegbulam was elected as the Research Officer of the AO Trauma Nigeria Country Council, a role that recognizes her growing leadership in orthopedic research, knowledge generation, and the promotion of evidence-based trauma and musculoskeletal care in Nigeria.

These milestones reflect her continued commitment to advancing surgical education, research, and capacity development within the region.

On the 30th of November last year my elder sister did her marriage introduction and all of a sudden I disappeared from the scene, but guess what???
I was busy hiding in my dad's room watching Man United vs Crystal Palace. 😂
After the match ended I came out smiling like I just won the lottery 😂😂

Yesterday 15th March at her baby's naming ceremony, I hid at her husband's room to watch Man United vs Aston Villa 🤧😂

Immediately after the game ended, I came out happy and joyful and as they were naming her, I gladly gave the bouncing baby girl “Brunita Fernandes” as a sign of appreciation for the good work my Magnifico has been doing in my life...😭😭😂❤️
