I was busy yesterday when I saw this tweet/video and couldn’t speak my mind, but now I will.

Why do people think they are not worthy of many things just because they haven’t attained a certain financial status?
You cannot have a girlfriend if you haven’t made a certain amount of money, you cannot have an opinion if you haven’t “made it,” you cannot have a tattoo because you are not rich, you cannot pierce your ear if you are a footballer not yet playing in “Europe.” You literally cannot enjoy things that don’t cost money you can’t afford, simply because you are waiting to get money you don’t need for them.

You want a 200m car before you can get a tattoo even though you already have a 50m car. Do you need the 200m car as your tattoo artist, or are you drawing the tattoo on the 200m car?

This concept of waiting to have money before doing things is why many shallow, low self-esteem, money-worshipping, unwise people think I shouldn’t have a voice. “You have not made it, so you shouldn’t have a voice or opinion.” What if I don’t make it on time or don’t make it at all? Should I remain voiceless? Never.

If I want a tattoo today, I will get it, and it will be beautiful because I have the body for it. I won’t care that shallow people project their own inability to enjoy such things onto me just because I haven’t “made it” yet.

In the end, people who delay enjoying things they want that aren’t tied to money—simply because they lack money they don’t need for it—are depriving themselves of the goodness of the moment.

Money is a tool and amplifier, but live and enjoy life in the moment. Tomorrow is not promised.
