“I just want to see my husband.”
The principal rescued after 56 days in captivity in Oyo has shared her ordeal.
She says none of the victims was sexually assaulted. She wasn’t beaten, but some of the younger children were flogged because they were noisy.
The men were blindfolded and handcuffed, while the captives were forced to trek for hours through the forest at night whenever the kidnappers feared security forces were closing in.
A heartbreaking account of survival.
I really don’t know what you stand for anymore, @sowore.
If your argument is strictly premised on his constitutional right to be granted bail and receive due process, I have absolutely no grouse with that. Since it is not a capital offence, bail should be granted on liberal terms except where there is a strong case of flight risk.
However, your attempt to wrap a prima facie clear-cut act of illegality in the flag of "youth innovation" and "activism" is where you completely lose the plot. And I know ignorance is not a weakness here but actually a weapon you are dangerously wielding.
Let’s call a spade a spade. Cloning the voice of a sitting President using AI is not an act of creative "innovation" or "flourishing youth." It is a national security risk. In a highly sensitive clime, a fake audio of a head of state can trigger ripple effects including economic panic, civil unrest, or diplomatic crises.
This isn't a young techie building the next fintech giant; it is an adult making a conscious, illegal choice to commit identity fraud.
To excuse this behaviour under the guise of "Nigeria's young people needing opportunities to learn and create" is incredibly disingenuous and dishonest. Since when did fraud become a legitimate tech stack?
Please choose your war carefully. Opposition should be logically, legally and conscionably done.
The kidnappers in Oyo State had some people supplying them information from Kebbi, Sokoto. The very first thing the military did was to cut off their communication- Sen. Fatai Buhari

PUBLIC APPEAL TO IDENTIFY FAMILY OF MR ORIOWO GABRIEL
The Lagos State Police Command appeals to members of the public to assist in reuniting an elderly man with his family.

Despite efforts by the Police to trace his family using the addresses he provided, all attempts have been unsuccessful, as the addresses have been visited and no one has been able to identify or locate his relatives.

Peter Obi’s sudden rebranding as a champion of a strong, participatory opposition is nothing short of historical revisionism.
The assertion that he would deliberately strengthen rival political forces is completely dismantled by his actual track record in governance, which reveals the exact opposite: a deeply rooted aversion to grassroots democracy and pluralism.
First, a man who actively suppressed the most fundamental tier of local democracy cannot preach about participatory governance. Throughout virtually his entire eight-year tenure as Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi systematically refused to conduct local government elections, choosing instead to run the local councils through handpicked caretaker committees.
He had to be dragged to court repeatedly by civil society and political actors demanding grassroots franchise. No matter what legal or administrative excuses his defenders conjure today, the fact remains clear: he starved the people of their right to local representation until the absolute twilight of his administration in early 2014.
Beyond Peter's past governance flaws, his contemporary political behaviour completely betrays his sudden love for a "strong opposition." A genuine democrat seeks to build, strengthen, and institutionalize political parties from within. Peter Obi, by contrast, treats political parties as disposable rental vehicles for his personal ambition.
In just a few years, he has migrated from APGA to the PDP, defected to the Labour Party, flirted with the ADC, and moved on yet again to the NDC. The moment a political platform demands structure, internal discipline, or accountability, or when he faces a challenge to his absolute control, he abandons it. A man who systematically weakens and fractures every opposition party he touches, leaving a trail of leadership crises in his wake cannot claim he wants to build a robust multi-party system. He does not want a strong opposition; he wants a compliant vehicle that answers solely to him.
Peter Obi is telling Chude on his podcast that if H.E Dav Umah wants to debate him, he should first qualify as a presidential candidate first. Funny; the Peter Obi @PeterObi how did he qualify to be a presidential candidate? Did he (Peter Obi) participate in any presidential primaries? In fact has he ever participated in any presidential primaries? Imagine a miracle centre presidential candidate questioning a successful governor and performing minister on qualifications
